Do Fender do an American Standard with a natural finish? Can't see it on their site but it seems silly not to have a basic natural finish before they start rolling out candy apple reds, blizzard pearls etc.

The only natural Fender American I recall is maybe on a couple of Telecasters. There's an Ash Tele that I think is in natural, and I thought I saw it on the American Standard or the Deluxe models. Maybe I'm thinking of the Blonde finish?

A butterscotch blonde MIA Tele Deluxe is the subject of frequent daydreams of mine. I've lusted over one of those guitars for a long time now. I'm a Les Paul guy, but I'd love to have a MIA Tele to do all of the sounds that the LP can't. Oooh man, a Tele on the bridge pickup, into a slightly overdriven tube clean channel...there I go daydreaming again!

It's sweet, I can attest to that. Played though my AC30 it just sparkles.
The triumvirate of the guitar world is Les Paul, Strat, and Telecaster. If you own those three you have damned near everything you could want.

Hmmm. I know the Tele you're talking about but i don't really need ANOTHER Tele. And I have a Les Paul. So the Strat is really the last one I need for the complete set. Just wish they did it in a natural finish!

If Fender has a guitar with a "Butterscotch" finish, should there be an ice cream flavor called "Electric Guitar?"

You probably have to go used. I had an American Standard in natural with a maple board.
