MS-16 sales ad

Hey Ghost they are amazing picks. No matter how good of a camera I have, I just can't seem to take picks worth anything. I hope your not upset at me for asking about you selling your 16. I know how things are. I was let go from my job in March and have found nothing yet. Like a dope I have gone in to debt buying gear for my studio on credit. If I see something I have to have it. I just can't survive another day if I don't have (whatever it is that I want at the time) I just bought a Mackie CR1604VLZ Pro from junkbay for almost 350.00 including shipping. My Fostex board is doing some crazy things. Have a good one my friend.

Though I am a bit concerned about what you just wrote! :eek:

Hell, I manage my money very frugally even when I am working but to buy stuff on credit when you have no idea of how you're going to pay it off is a bit frightening to me....OK, a lot frightening! :D

:confused:I just bought an MS-16, I cant figure out how the 2 handles on each side of the cart is suppose to work, They seem to be hydraulic. Ghost, do yours still functiuon?

Yes, mine work. They are pseudo hydraulic; Sort of like the gas lift in an office chair only not as bouncy because of the added weight they carry.

The trick to adjusting them is to pull on the levers and simultaneously pull or push down the transport, which I know is tricky to do as this is really a two person job but can be managed if you position yourself carefully with your forearms under the front edge to lift, squatting down to do so. When wanting to lower the deck, reposition your body more over top of the front and use your chest to push down the transport while you're pulling on the levers.

Nice pictures, they make me want to buy more machines! I got the levers to work, it was awkward. I think the levers do the same if you pull up or down, they release the hydraulic piston so you can move it. But unlike an office chair you have to pull it up or push it down for it to move. After all my adjusting and messing with it I ended up putting it in the same position I started with.

Well, I'm sure you had fun playing around with it! ;)

The last picture posted, I had mine dropped as low and level as she would go.

I guess the whole deal with adjusting it is just to make it comfortable to work with and it's a nice feature to have, if and when you need it.

There seemed to be a definite lack of MS-16 glamor shots out there on the web so hopefully these pictures will help to restore some of the glory of this old machine and perhaps even drive the value of it back up a bit! :D

I'm glad to see all the money I blew on camera gear has put a couple of smiles on people's faces from the pictures I've taken!

I really hate to say it but the camera and lenses that were used to take these shots costs far more then the MS-16 did! :eek::D

Now if I could just land some actual paying gigs doing this sort of product photography, I'd really be happy! Maybe I should put some of these shots into a portfolio and shop them around? I wonder what sort of companies I should pitch myself too?

My thoughts exactly! Maybe TEAC? (I would). How about other pro audio gear related companies?:confused::)
