My Lobotomy Baby - Remixed Again

Well it's late here atm in the UK and so I had to listen through headphones but, I found that the music seemed very low. Like the musicians have blown an amp and the vocalist is singing whilst looking round at them with a look of 'what you doing?'. It sounds good though mate other than that. It's not that the vocal is too loud though, don't get me wrong...but I would just bring the musicians abit closer to the audience.
Sounds like a cracking song though...

Thanks, Mate,

I was looking for some feedback and you've given it to me. I've mixed this song many times, although just recently with real drums. I guess the vocal is too loud, which can be easily fixed. I'm off to remix yet again.

Wig:)

i remember this song when you first posted it and i really didn't like the drums, but now these drums sound wayyyyy better. i'm glad you got somebody to record drums for you.

real drums have so many subtle dynamics in comparison to programmed crap. good songs deserve real drums! haha

The drums and vocals sound right volume wise, and the bass is there but the electric and leads are somewhat low. When the solo comes out it's fluctuating in volume a wee bit. The lead improves volume wise after the solo.
There's a piano in the last bar which I don't hear much of throughout the song. I'd try panning a bit too as it sounds kinda mono right now (except the lead which is sort of left side. I'll try and follow up on the next mix...:D

Try this mix, ido, which was mastered at Purple Robe Studios:

Yes - that mix is better for me. It definitely has a better spread of the instruments and the piano comes out nicely. There must be some kind of compressor going on cause it's got a smoothness to it that is hard to describe but subtley very effective.

Maybe it's what Tommy Harper did at Purple Robe. I can't tell, my ears are fried.:D

Second mix sounds better, Wig. I think the mastering has helped it a lot. Just the guitar solo sounds a bit too low. This is such a great song. You're one fine songwriter.

Joey :):):):)

I actually think I like the first mix WAY better. (the one on soundclick) The second actually sounds flat and has no bass to my ears. But forget all of the tech crap. This is a GREAT song! I really like it. To the max. The lyrics are great, and the instrumental arrangement is fantastic. This is just a great song. Sound like some of the stuff I like that came out of the 90s. The guitar solo is Kicking too! This is great. Keep it up!
