Anyone here use the Marshall DSL401?
Bought mine about a year ago and to be honest havn`t used it that much, find it a bloody fiddly amp to get decent tone from, just changed speaker to a V30,helped a bit but its still a fizzy wee amp, need to get the gain on OD1 up to about halfway for it to settle,to my ears thats a bit much gain for lot of the stuff I like to play.
To be honest my old AVT is easier to dial in a decent tone and dare I say it actually sounds better on quite a few settings.
Dunno if this is down to the fact that the 401 uses different tubes than the norm for Marshalls,or maybe I just need to play the speaker in and take the time to get to know it a bit better.
What dya reckon
