Whats the best RAP MIC??!
..Just kidding. Alright guys hows everyones weekend going. My question for this week is a little different.

I have the DMP3 and was thinkin about gettin my priorities straight before making another purchase. First off i heard i would need a sound card which i would put in my computer, plug my mic into the DMP3 and the dmp3 from the output to the line in. I would do the same thing with my guitar and just overdub tracks? I just want the best sound and need to know what to get.

Should i spend 90% of my budget on a KSM44 for like $600 used for acoustic recordings and singing with some light alternative rock; or should i invest a better soundcard or even a mixer? I don't think i even want a mixer but im not sure.

I just figured the DMP3 was like superman and would do everything for me. So whats some suggestions on what priorities I should have and what is most important first.

Is the KSM44 a good choice and if so, should that be what I should get. Or should i get a good sound card first and get something less expensive like an ADK Hamburg. You tell me.

The soundcard i was thinkin about was the Delta 1010 or somehting like that. And after everything, im going to have to save up a few more bucks for the Taylor 314ce I want.

I guess I will just have to hope it snows this summer so I can make a few dollars shoveling? :D Hahaha

Oh yeah, my buudget for everything is close to $900

Hmm if it were me I would get a Kel Audio HM7U, and how many channels of in out do you need? Does the 1010 even have a preamp? If not then you will have to buy one of those too. I would go for the mackie 400f or a echo audio fire and you'd be under budget. you can get 2 hm7u's for 600 and get a interface with 250 or mix itup, but I love me my kel mics!

But I think his budget might have just slipped to $825

Budget is now $826!!!
Skip the bag of chips at lunch?

If you're talking your computer now, and not the laptop, you might do best at this point to pick up an M Audio Audiophile 24/96... wouldn't cost alot to get you into the DAW with good quality, while you determine what your long range goals are

Use a USB thing like the Line6 UX2 at $200...then you can buy your mic too...or a used one...I happen to have one from when I upgraded to a UX8...most of the time you can find an AKG C414 for arround $400 used...that will give you much better results than what you were planning to buy in the first place.

if it were me....

factory resealed for 650 bennys, YA BABY! everything you need all in one mixer and can record the whole band at the same time.

Nice features... really nice, much more than you'd expect to find on a desk even close to this price range... but then, it's a Phonic... but if all you're doing is polishing turds...

nothing at all wrong with Phonic gear I have several pieces of their gear I have had for years that are still working as good as the day I bought them.

Hmm. You guys say some interesting stuff. So basically my hook up from my condenser to the dmp3 to my sound card is not good?

Well... how do you think it sounds? If I was in your position, I probably just save up for that Taylor... there's you biggest bang for the buck in achieving a great sound... right at the source..
