I cant edit in pro tools anymore?

A few days ago I after I recorded some tracks I went to add some effects to them and the track in the session did not change at all. A new track with the EQ appeared in the regions list but the tracks in the session did not change at all? I'll select a track in the session and go to add any effect and the track in the session does not change at all, but a new track with the added effect appears in the regions list. Why wont the track in the session just auto change for me anymore?

Ok, let's clear a few things up:

you're just EQ'ing things right, not editing anything (ie. changing regions etc).

How are you doing this? Are you inserting an EQ or using an AudioSuite or....?? If you talk through step by step how you're going about this it'll help us help you!

Its just when I click on a audio track on the session and go to use any effect from the audio suite it wont change the track. The original raw track stay there and the new track with whatever effect appears in the regions list. Ive looked through the settings in pro tools and cant find anything. Ive even re-installed hoping that would fix it but nope :-(

aha! So you're AudioSuiting...Ok.

There should be a small menu in your audiosuite plugin window which says something along the lines of "use in playlist" or something like that. Can you see what I mean? I haven't got PT in front of me and don't often use AudioSuites.

I've just found a picture:

Make sure that "use in playlist" button is highlighted. I think that should solve your issue?
