I just spoke with Fed ex and USPS. Fed Ex priority international delivers to your door. USPS brokerage fees are included in their shipping quotes that I pass on to you, just like Fed Ex.

International shipping with USPS (ugh!) A while back I filled out all the paperwork for customs along with the weight and dimensions. The label printed and was not rejected. Three days later, this package was returned to me. Their reason? They said I must add the H and the W, times 2, add the L and it must not total more than I think it was 72". Now we must re-pack in 2 boxes which will cost more. I did the math for this one order, and Fed Ex would have been MUCH cheaper to ship as one package. EVERYONE overwhelmingly requested USPS for their international shipping and I am stumped as to "why USPS?"

I don't know about FedEx, but I have been royally screwed by the outrageous brokerage fees UPS charges. So that could have something to do with it.

Because those of us with experience importing from the US had always found USPS to be much cheaper AND RELIABLE than Fedex, or for that matter UPS. I'm aware that USPS had restructured their o/seas shipping policies but until I have used it again, I won't have any idea of how different the charges may be.

NB: Everyone planning to modify one of the TNC recent GB products, please be aware that we are having some special transformers made by the best transformer facility in the world, AMI/TAB-Funkenwerk.

I have a sample right now made for the ACM-3 ribbon that really improves the beast.

So hold off buying some goofy inferior thing, just to be mod-happy.

Details at Eleven.

Always a great intrigue in this forum.
How do I get rid of "Newbie" under my moniker?
I realize I am new to this forum but I am hardly a newbie in the world of sound, music, musicianship and recording.
I'd rather nothing at all instead of "Newbie"

Kick. Ass.

I'm seriously digging on the AMI BV314 transformer in my 6802T.

I read this on another forum and suspected it from the beginning. This is some great news for all mod'ers. I do not have much experience modding, but know that others that do will walk us through the process. We will have some high quality gear at rock bottom prices with these mods! I have not received my gear yet, so this question may be a little premature, but here goes. Will we order from the group buy or will we order from the manufacture? Again, thanks Chance and Terry for your efforts, and Randy for your work on the web site.

Just a thought, but it should be possible to find the names of those of us who log into the console regularly, to check our status. If you pull those names first, you're likely to get paid immediately (or very quickly, anyway.) People who haven't logged in recently might be candidates for a reminder email to update their shipping info. Then, once they do, they get added to the list of 'ready to pack' orders. No one who hasn't checked lately or responded to emails gets packed, until they do so.

That way you don't have packed orders waiting around taking up space and delaying everybody else's orders.

Getting the log in data is something your web guy should be able to do, no problem.

Unfortunately, Randy's a bit tied up these days....sigh. I miss his banter. Hope he's doing OK.

:D

I don't think Chances packers work on the weekend so checking the console will do no good. LOL

Im still kinda curious as to what to expect shipping charges to be....for those folks who have already been invoiced shipping....would you mind giving us an idea by telling us what you ordered, where its being shipped, and an a round about figure of what your shipping cost was????

I had 4 pres and 2 tube mics shipping to Texas for about 77 bucks.

I got three mics: a 1200, a 310, and a 200. Good bit of weight (2 of those have power supplies, all have cases--I think it was around 35 lbs).

Was around $44 to get it across the US to the state of Maryland.

Well, he could just post on here (GS, PSW, etc) asking active members to send an email with their name, email address, and a general description of their order. Then, he could use the emails to figure out which order to fill next. Sending an email would be basically stating "I'm here and ready to pay for shipping!"

I don't know how many orders there are waiting on payment, really there shouldn't be any, I imagine everyone is as anxious as I am!

No pressure, Chance, we're a patient bunch, just sitting here trying to think of ways to help make things smoother!:D

cool...I had 3 pres and 3 mics....and its going to SC....this should give me a pretty good idea....

thanks..

So....Where are we in the great delivery count? Half way? Two thirds? Over one hundred?..

Waiting patiently....but getting seriously bummed out.

Chance, any word on schematics for the 73 and 84??? :D
Also, did China ever say what the bad batch of preamps were recalled for?

BTW I got my preamps today, 4 of them weigh a LOT. Way heavier than I would have imagined. I haven't had a chance to unbox them or anything yet.

THANKS CHANCE! :D

Fedex is about 3x more expensive.

I wasn't sure where you are located, so I picked any postcode in L.A. Shipping a 50lb box from L.A to Sydney with fedex - cheapest is $610. With USPS its $209.
