I remember this from before. I love the harmonies. The vocal has a great, intimate feeling. And the lyrics are outstanding. A great example of the craft of songwriting.

I'm listening on headphones--so this may be off, but the drums are bit far back. I'd bring 'em up--but it's also in the realm of subjectivity, it may be just my taste.

Just love your stuff...

Thanks, Strat. I'm not sure about the drums either. I usually struggle with them. Because its kind of a medieval piece, I wasn't sure what kind of drums to use. Some people say turn them up and some say ditch them altogether.

But I'm glad you like the tune. Made my day, man. Wig:)

Bump Bump! Any other opinions? I'm planning on including this one on a new album.

This was one of the first songs I heard from you and it hit me right away....I still think it's great, completely your style ;)
Please, do include it in your CD. The lyrics are wonderful, your singing is as good as ever and I love your flute work. Acoustics are beautifully panned. Voice comes from my left side mostly, but I think you intended that.

Cheers

Mr Wiggy,
A nice development mate. I'm not fussed on the drums. I still reckon a bohdran w tambourine or similar would do the job nicely. Every now & then the snare feels slightly off beat to my already dysrhythmic sensibilities.
Great story & performance.
I'd have loved to have heard CARn't instead of CAN't as it's more in keeping with the setting but then again I'm a pedant for "aich" as well so ignore that & if it were Irish it'd be CAN't anyway.
When are you going to put together a package?

Always nice to hear how you support my work. The left side vocals were just a result of recording in stereo with one mic a little hotter. I'm probably going to leave it that way. I might address the snare a bit, because that can be changed more easily. Some people think in 3/4 it shouldn't be on the first beat. Wig:)

Thanks, Ray,

It's hard to know what drums would sound like in that era. Not shure what a bohdran is and I agree that a tam would work as well. I may address the snare issue when I get a chance.

As far as putting together a package, I hope to have a new CD out in a couple months. There are a few songs I need to tweak for one reason or another. Thanks for your interest.

I have a few copies of my last CD left and they are available for cost. ($5.00) mailed to you anywhere in the US. Not sure about Canada though.

I sent some to France and OZ and the shipping was a few dollars more.

PM me if you're interested in getting one.

Wig:)

Wig, my friend, this is great! You know I always love your work. Magnificent work as always. Have to send you the mix of the song that you helped me out with.

Bod is like a tambour but often played with a double ended beater from the underside I think.

Yes, I would love that, my friend.:) I hope you cut down some of what I gave you. I tend to overplay in order to give my collaborators a choice of what to include.

I think when I posted the song in Soundclick, it went way up the Traditional Spanish chart. You should post it there, also. Wig:)

Lovely song, Wig. Celtic feel with spanish overtones. I think the storyline has several layers, as well.

Yeah, I think the snare could be replaced with a tambourine, maybe one hit on the first beat of each measure. or two eighth notes on the 2nd beat. Subtle and simple. just an opinion.

Always a fan. :)
