Is there a way I can email a song I've bounced to disk on Protools 7.4, OS 10.4.2, and a dual Power Mac 5? I've looked all over iTunes and can't seem to find a way to do it. Thanks.

Yep. Convert it to a 128kbps mp3. If you have an email server that won't let you send music files, then you can put it in a zipped folder (or whatever the MAC equivilant of a compression program is).

there are also free sites that will let you send large files,up to 2 gig to them , the person you want to get the fle then retrives if from there

Most song (wav) or data files are too large to send as an attachment to an e mail. You need to encode them to a mp3 file to send them on most servers.

Yup...I've used yousendit.com for several songs, all in wav. No problems.

OK, I'm attempting to use yousendit and it just says..."please stand by...your files are being sent". I tried twice and the first time waited an hour and there wasn't even anything reading on the "progress bar". Now what? And...

Do a Google search for "cDex"...it's a free program that will let you convert to MP3...
Once that is installed and running, go to Options -> Settings, set LAME as the MP3 encoder, and then set the Bitrate to 128KBPS, although I would recommend 192.
128KBPS is roughly 1MB per minute of audio but it has a noticeable effect on the quality...
Then drag & drop the WAV file onto the white part on the main window and click "Encode"...MP3 files will be placed in \My Documents\My Music\MP3 I think...

Drag your .WAV into Itunes. Highlight your song by clicking on it once (if it's not highlighted already.) Go to the "Advanced" menu and choose "convert to Mp3." If for some reason it says "convert to AAC" you'll have to go to your Itunes Preferences and change it to import as MP3.

Tried it. Still couldn't email it. I ended up using box.net and it's very simple and intuitive to use. It's a file storage website that can store and email your file. Works great.

That's odd...are you using the email setup through your internet service provider? It might be worth setting up a generic email address from Gmail just for this purpose. I've emailed around 10mb through Gmail with no problems (although it does take about 5 minutes for it to send.) Glad you found an option that works for you though.
