Group Buy Interest?

I love information, but until I have the units are in my hand, I have to say it all sounds like speculation (which is all I ever thought I was getting anyway). The more complicated this gets/sounds, the more I appreciate what Chance is doing, the more I look forward to getting the units, and the less confident I am that I'm going to know very much detail before I do.

And if I get the preamps and they're not worth what I paid, I'll learn some feng shui (風水), get on a plane, and go put a whoopin' on'em (by, um, rearranging the furniture in their showroom, I guess). But (we all have to admit) that is *far* from likely.

But seriously, nothing you (Alan) are saying makes me think anything other than I'm getting a fantastic deal for the money, and it's interesting. Sounds like everyone gets a little bruised up from time to time dealing with these folks, which (again) makes me appreciate things all the more.

edit: oh, and nice color!! Glad I didn't pick.

Originally when we sent the specs for them to make these pieces, I was informed that they can make/clone it. If they had their own design, I was not aware of it. They told me that they would make it. In the beginning, I was under the assumption that they only made mics, because since 1991 thats all I ever purchased from them. When someone posted a picture on another forum, I was stumped and contacted the manufacturer and was told "don't worry we not say your brand TnC". With all this stress, I've had it with GB's as they now are. I want to thank you for sharing this information, because it has educated me a whole lot. I am not a business man (duh) and was only trying to provide a service to everyone.

i knew you had mentioned about the flight case a few pages back but couldn't find any info on the shock mount (looking thru the GB emails - said it came w/ leather bag but no mention of clip/mount)

as for the pres - im shure they will be better than the POS Tubessence pre i bought 3yrs ago for about the same $.... (yea, its 2-channels verses one but 2-channels of crap still = crap:p)

anyway... thanks again Chance, there are still a lot of us out here who really do appreciate all that you are doing...

Chance, you really are a saint for dealing with all this. I've been lurking through the thread for a long time now and (while I'm obviously less than active here) been paying close attention to your posts. I'm looking forward to my mic and pres. Shame I didn't have more money at the time.

AH, I think it should be public, but that's just me having interest in full disclosure. You have taken a lot of flack for what you've said, but the fact that you still are trying to look out for all our best interests is so great.

gun metal blue works for me. i would never ever take painted aluminum over anodizzeed.as long as the plates are done from the same batch they should all be the same color. thats what the guy at home depot told me. YEAH THATS THE TICKET.

With all due respect I don't think any negative information would be appreciated at this time. I have been getting conflicting information from the manufacture and you. Once the gear is in everyones racks in a few months, I am sure that any technical information you might want to share will be welcomed.

If you didn't understand what you were getting into, that's your own fault. You should've done more homework. This is my first GB and I'm fairly new to the board. How come I understand it and you don't? :confused:

Lets not fight amongst our selves. A house divided will fall. The bottom line is, when you all have your gear, I am the one who is accountable to you for what I say. If I am wrong, surely it will soon be no secret. The truth will be in your hands in a few months. I hope we can now return back to productive dialog.

Everytime someone says something you don't like you resort to personal insults and name calling...............somewhat infantile behaviour and a sure sign of insecurities. If you can't see the possibility of there being a forest beyond the trees in this "issue", then fine, that's your problem......please keep it that way, no need to continually share.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, I can promise you that you can move your gear to someone else who missed out on this buy...

And there's no need for you to continually prop up Hyatt's horseshit. As has been pointed out more than once, we won't know anything decisive until we get the pres in our hands. Why that simple fact escapes you is a mystery to me.

As for my "need to continually share"..... after enduring seven years of George Bush, and watching tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, die in a contrived war based on lies, a war that might have been prevented if enough people here and around the world called "bullshit," I've reached a point where I'm just not going to tolerate people who set out to be destructive, literally or otherwise, especially when their actions are blatantly self-serving as in Hyatt's case.
 
I thought I would stray OT and share something totally unrelated but very refreshing
I am reading "Mixing with your mind", and a while back someone posted this video "How to listen to music with your whole body with Evelyn Glennie". This chick is deaf and will blow your mind. It's a half hour long, but very refreshing. If you have 30 minutes watch the whole piece. She plays a selection on the Marimba that I can't concieve how anyone who is deaf can play with such dynamics.

Chance, I suggest that you and Alan should talk directly (via email or phone) and see if you can come to some consensus based on the information that you each have. Once you two have digested the knowledge and information that each of you brings to the table, then please feel free to share it with us. I can imagine that an open discussion here could easily get ugly again, so it would be better done in private. And you two seem to respect each other, so please sort out what you have and then summarize the common ground for us.

I didn't order preamps this time - I'm still holding out for the two-channel version. I'm hoping that Chance will be able to execute another GB next year with that unit as one of the options. So don't get too discouraged, Chance! :)

JTC, it's true that we won't know for sure what's in the pres or how they perform until they actually arrive. But this constant slamming of Alan Hyatt isn't really accomplishing anything. He has more experience with the Chinese (and with 747 in particular) than any of us do, and that includes Chance. Obviously there are a couple of others here who feel the way you do, but I think you're in the minority.
 
JTC whats wrong with you? Its not necessary to reply in every post with an insult or attack. Do you act like such an ass IRL?

A massive stretch. Your comparing bush's war mongering to alan hyatts post? [which could still hold merit as far as anyone knows] . You need to relax, we're buying mics, its not that serious.
