Nice!


Pretty melodic and slow for my taste, but that's just me.
kinda reminds me of them eighties.:D

Production is pretty much there. Nice mix.

Yeah Eighties, you're right there....at my age I just can't get away completly from my roots...:D

I'm really worried about this one though, I don't know if it's punchy enough...probably heard it too much!

Re-listening with the punchiness in mind...

There's plenty at times here.. Mastering would even increase that if well done.

As I increased the monitor volumes, it became a little boomy?..

But nothing there that a Mastering EQ and compression wouldn't fix.

Yeah!,, when recording and mixing songs they eventually start oozing OUT of your ears!:D
What I've done, is that I compiled a set of songs from different genres that are well mixed and mastered. (A few from here, even)
And when mixing, I escape to them to rest my ears once in a while.
..Putting them on repeat and take a nap, then return to the mix...
..always something to correct!:mad:

And SOMETIMES, I just have to say:

I might do a haphazard mix, only a tad of EQ..
After that, start making the clened up, scooped and compressed andwhatever-mix, and find that the first mix has a lot more punch and drive to it.:o

Yeah, you're right there! Sometimes you just tweak for hours and use a myriad of Plugins and then you realise, you don't really need all that much. The toms in the middle part do boom a little, so I'll have to look into that agian.

I think vocals could be just alil bit louder in the mix.

Other than that - sound crystal clear. Reminds me of Dokken (band or solo) - not something I listen to much today, but used to be a massive fan.

Yeah, I used to be a big Dokken fan too back in the 80's...can still remember the first time I heard Unchain the Night....just blew me away!
I'll check those vocals again.
