I'm fairly decent at Pro Tools midi and I'd love to help.

Could you perhaps re-phrase your question??

well i just started recording midi with my oxygen 49 but whenever i tried to record the sustain pedal it just doesnt work..i went to the input filter tab and set it to record sustain and stuff but its not even picking it up..whenever i go and press test midi everything works but the pedal.. is there a certain cc i should program it to?

64...but that's pretty standard, should already be sending on that.
And you have it set to Record All? When you record it doesn't record any sustain automation? Does the note still sustain anyway?

i did do that and the thing is that i cant hear a sustain at all. i dont know if you are familiar with the oxygen 49 but whenever i program a know or anything (in this case the sustain pedal) the screen that shows you the cc just stays in 00!

thats what you get for making crappy midi tracks

Very helpful, asshole. Much of the music out there has at least some midi-controlled audio, if not most of it. Why would you even post something so dumb?

does it sustain when you just play it??? and then not when played back??? that would indicate the controllers filter is not set right... as has been offered already... what's the chance of dumb luck the pedal's bad??? seems like that's the stuff that bites ya on the ass...

is it not playing it back, or is it not recording the data with sustain? It may be the samples you have chosen to play do not have sustain, maybe change the sample or vst you are using

what program and vst is it. I take this stuff in school, and i would like to think i can be of some help
