I guess that is a good problem to have....if you have 500+ people buying these units...ane im sure probably half will be buying multiple units....you should have no problems hitting the target numbers...

Actually, the limit I can send at one time is 50, not 500 with Outlook Express.

Just a note: I get a delivery failure notice when I sent the mass E-mail to "randy@shadycreekoutlaws"

Also,, Where is Lucas Proud? You paid for your mics already and they have been ready to ship for months. Several Pay Pal requests have been sent with no reply. Whats up?

i dont know what his deal is, i've mentioned this to him several times in person. if you trust me enough to send me his mics, i can give them to him. however, that would make me an enabler of poor GB form....

so i know from the email that we're not supposed to do any comparisons on public forums, so is there somewhere else that i can find a rundown of what designs the mics are based on? maybe through a PM or something?

thanks.

Comparisons are OK, just mention of manufacturers who make the mics is bad.
The manufacturer who makes TnC mics also makes mics (and parts) for some of the better brand names.

You might not know/remember, but early in the GB tour, it was stated/known that we were getting the same mics as **** and ****, and **********, at a fraction of the price they were selling them for. The brand names threatened to stop doing business with said manufacturer unless they STOP selling to me/us. They stopped selling to us. We are now working with a different, and the BEST manufacturer China has to offer and I won't jepordise what we have.

Discretion is the better part of valour. No names.

I too have my eye on a few of these mics, and was wondering about the patterns of the ribbons. Are they all symmetrical figure 8s? I'd like to buy in pairs to use in a blumlein setup. And this may have been asked before (sorry), but will ALL ribbons ship with an extra ribbon?

The ACM 2 & 3 will ship with spare ribbons. Those are the only mics that had major ribbon sag. The new ribbons (FET & TUBE) have a much higher standard and, I believe have a heavier ribbon material.

Will be getting are replacement and spare ribbons for the mics we bought from the last GB?

Also will the missing shockmounts for the ACM-670 be furnished?

Absolutely. Replacement AND spare ribbons will be included.

As for the 670 mic (forgive me) but they actually took the parts we were missing off of their display mics at the NAMM show and gave them to me. I will have to double check, but I think only 6 of the 670's were ordered. send me an E-mail>subject>SHOCKMOUNT, I will see if that was a shock mount or holder/fastener

i'm mainly interested in the tube mics:
ACM-6801T or ACM-6802T
and
ACM-900.

so any further information or comparisons for those would be much appreciated.
(i've tried searching, but that just brings up a bunch of posts from the GB threads).
thanks

The 6801 was removed, because none were ordered on the last GB.

It's hard (for me) to make any comparisons with other mics. For example, I have used 57's, 121's, and a vintage RCA BK-5 on guitar cabs by themselves or in combination, but now I, along with many others are loving the ACM-2. Now, how would I compare a $1k mic with a $50.00 mic? Every mic has its own color and place.
I am using/trying the new ACM-900 on everything, and on the project I am now working on, the female singer has a very thin voice and this mic really makes her voice full in a way that the 47 or 87 doesn't.

thanks a lot for the response;

ha ha, yes, character comparisons are always problematic, aren't they?

i probably could have worded my question better, what i'm actually wondering is if there are any similar designs out there that might be comparable to the tube mics, or that they may have been based off of....

thanks again for all your work on this.

Important Notice!

In an effort to make things more understanding and less complicated, our own "ZETAJAZZ44" has graciously from his busy schedual, volunteered a real good system to make things more organized. He'll post and explain. Many of you have also volunteered help and I don't want to exclude you from a much appreciated "THANK YOU". More heads are always better than one.

So, to make sure I have this straight, those that already have ribbons will get a replacement ribbon and a spare for each mic purchased? And NEW ribbon mic purchases will come with one spare and better QC?

Any word on shock mounts?

I ordered 2 shock mounts to go with the ACM-3s I ordered and received two Mic clips. I've never really seen a definite answer on whether the clip sent was incorrect and a true shock mount is coming, or if I paid $24 for two $3.50 mic clips.

I hate asking in the forums, but your PM seem to fill up quick.

Thanks.

Yes the info you stated on the "ribbons is correct (replacment ribbons for past purchases AND an extra ribbon for future purchases.

As for the ACM-3 shock mount, I thought I explained this before. The replacment shock mounts will be shipped with our order.

As CHANCE has said, he and I have been working on a system that will enable him to better manage these group buys.

After seeing some of the challenges he was facing regarding email lists..etc., Since I am a software developer by trade and love to write code, I volunteered to develop a Group Buy Management System for him to use.

This system will require everyone that wants to be included on the group buy(s) to register for it. It is a straight-forward registration process and does not collect sensitive user data. Basically this system will enable CHANCE to keep good records of each person who wants included in the group buy, the main forum they are a member of, their forum username and email address... This system also collects product information about which product(s) that you are interested in purchasing through the group buy and each item's quantity.

As I said before, this is a very straight-forward registration process and I don't think that anyone will have any problems completing the process. If you should encounter any problems with registration, please post your concerns here and CHANCE or I will respond to that post.

Even if you have already sent an email to CHANCE requesting to be included in this group buy, you will STILL HAVE TO REGISTER THROUGH THIS SYSTEM IN ORDER TO BE INCLUDED. There is not a lot of error trapping written into this system so it will be the responsibility of the person registering to MAKE SURE THAT THE INFORMATION YOU SUBMIT IS CORRECT. Also please be sure that you choose the appropriate product(s) that you are interested in purchasing from the list as well.

The link to the registration page is:
http://www.n344rb.com/MUSICIANSWORKSHOP/

Again, if anyone has any question or should encounter any problems please posts those concerns here on the boards to be answered.

Thanks in advance,

Zetajazz44

Nice job, Zeta.

Since there is no pricelist yet, I assume we will not be held initially to quantities desired/ordered, and can change this at a later date.

Or, should we hold off registering until we know prices and can give a more realistic quantity of items ordered?
