Fender Superchamp XD - an extension cab? (impedance matching)

I'm wondering if it'd be possible to use a cheap old combo of the same size as the SCXD as a speaker extension cab - so that both 10" speakers would be driven by the SCXD's amp.

The SCXD amps says "8 Ohm minimum".

I upgraded the speaker to Jensen p10r 8 Ohm and the other "cab" would probably have to be the same speaker.

Is there a way to make 2 8 ohm speakers work together and still be an 8 Ohm load?

That way I would have the portability of the SCXD (1x10) but when I want I would also have a sound of 2x10.

Thanks!

No, those two 8-ohm speakers can be wired either in parallel for a combined 4-ohm impedance, or in series for a combined 16-ohm impedance.

Your amp says "8 ohm minimum" but I'll betcha you could run it into 16 ohms.

well, from what I heard it can, but it will be too quiet.

perhaps I could try 2 speakers in series - I do have the old stock speaker.
