Midi Latency only on Playback in SL3

There are obviously a lot of options here. To get you started. Go to Vst instruments and select one of the built-in plugins, such as the LM-7 drum sound.
Then, in your midi track, under output, select "LM-7". Your input will be your controller keyboard or pad.

What I meant for my last question was how do you bounce the MIDI track into a wave file?

Real sorry for all the questions here, but 1 more.
How do I change the default MIDI piano sound to a VST synth?
I don't have a MIDI controller so I'm just drawing in the notes.

Youve actually solved a different problem I was having.
I couldn't work out how to use VST plug ins for MIDI.

The MIDI track is only data (note, velocity, etc...) but the output (VSTi), as Gutta said, is where the sound is. I think to do what you're talking about you would need to solo the track, export it as a wav file then import it back into your project.

Why do you want to do that though? Once you get your MIDI track recorded and routed to your VSTi of choice, if you open your mixer, there is a VSTi "audio" track that you can EQ, add plugins to, etc. that might make it a little easier than going through all of the work.

Edit: And I'm pretty sure that little slider is even there when you are working with an audio track. Never tried it out though...

Yeah the slider is on audio tracks also, this is great!

My MIDI track it isn't going to my stereo out even though I can hear the default piano sound from my MIDI track, so it doesn't work to solo then export.

I added a synth VST called Wave13 but I don't get any input into it when I route the MIDI track to it. Ive tried this with other VSTs also and I don't get any input into the vsti audio track.

This is confusing why I can't get any input into my audio track from the MIDI track.

Okay, when you open up your MIDI track you should have, just like an audio track, an input and output dropdown menu just a little below where that slider for timing is. When you open up your output it should be the VSTi that you want to run it to. If it's left as it's default I think it automatically just plays through windows general MIDI crap, which is usually that piano.

So, just to recap, your input should be your MIDI controller and the output should be your VSTi. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what the issue could be.

I don;t have a MIDI controller I am just drawing in the notes. So I think the input is fine.

The output is set to the virtual instrument.
