I have a question about analogue recording. Im thinking about buying a tascam portastudio or something similar. My main concern is that I don't know how to slow the tape down when im finished. Do I have to get some kind of dual tape deck recorder? I don't know!

You have to mix it down to a normal speed deck or CD recorder. So yes, you need another unit to mix down to stereo in order to hear it back on any other players.

So instead of buying multiple units it would be cheaper to just buy a digital recorder with its own cdr right?

You can also use the 1/8" line input (on your sound-card) to mix-down to your computer, then burn it to CD-R. You need this cable:

Are there cheaper stand-alone digital multi-track recorders out there that cost less then a second-hand analog Portastudio? I don't think so!
