problem converting mp3's

my mp3 converter can't see the files my tascam 2488 burns to cd in redbook format for some reason. so i exported the mono wav file, loaded into reaper and rendered it as a stereo wav file. then i used the mp3 converter to convert that file to an mp3. i've used two different converters to do this and none of my efforts and any settings are accepted on lightningmp3.com or on soundlick. for some reason the files are either not recognized as mp3 files or i am told that they are too large to upload. BUT when i go to the properties of the converted files, i see that they are 16 bit 44khz stereo mp3 files. i'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. can anyone help?
 
Mike has SONAR 6 which (can) saves the WAV file at a higher bitrate than normal. I think it was like 32 bit instead of 16. When we wrote the WAV file out at 16 bit everything magically worked. We had similar problems - Sound Forge couldn't open the file at the higher bit rate even when it was converted to an MP3.
Try that and see what happens....Good Luck....:D

i did use only 16 bit. on everything.
 
Oh, and don't burn a redbook cd - burn a iso data cd. That's probably why it's not working, you need a ripper for that.

i have no choice about what cd i burn. it either burns for back up in which case the files are mono either 24 bit or 16. or it burns to redbook. this is my one big issue with this machine and it looks like it's going to bite me in the ass.

i went back to my old dp 01 and exported a 16 bit stereo wav file and then converted that and it still gave me the problem so it may be the IE thing, although i have loaded mp3's onto lightning with firefox once before.

anyway, i'll try that and get back to you

must be the latest update. they appear to be just like microshaft. they fix things that aren't broken lol.
