Imedance/Levels "Quick reference"?

I've been around long enough to ask the occasional lazy newb question, right?

Can anyone give me, or point me to an Impedance/levels quick reference?

What would be most groovy, and I have not been able to find, is something that gives the nominal impedance of instrument inputs, as opposed to line level, effects loop, etc.

Also a brief explanation of +4 as opposed to -10 input level adjustment, and how the two will interact when mismatched/etc.

I'm trying to figure out how to use stereo effects units without having a splitter via some clever configuration with effects loops/line outs/pre amp out/power amp out/and FX loops...into two different guitar amps.

Okay, scratch the +4/-10 part, I found that answer on the FAQ here. :o

As I said, I have two amps, and a stereo effects processor.

If I put the guitar in the input of the 1st amp, put the processor in the loop of both amps, can I then run from the "Slave Out" of the first amp into the input of the second amp?
Will it create some evil feedback loop that will rip my face off?

If the processor is not totally split stereo, i.e., some of what you put into the L input comes out the R output, then yeah, you'll have a feedback loop.

So an A/B/Y splitter is the only way to do this?
I've heard nightmare stories of tonesuck with most splitters, and I'm already using a Behringer FX unit...sooooooo

Hmmm, posting between boards.

No no no! "Tone suck" would only happen with a high source impedance, like if you split your guitar with the Y cable. The Behri box output will be low output impedance (probably 100 ohms or less), and should easily be able to drive more than one attached line-impedance (or higher) device.

I've got a Whirlwind A/B/Y box that I picked up used for 20 bucks. I've patched around it to test it, and I can't hear any tone difference going through it. YMMV.
