yes
yes, as stated above. i need a pair of jj electronics 6L6GCs, and i'd like to have them before thanksgiving, i have a cousin who plays guitar and i want to show him my amp.

oh, and also, do you HAVE to bias the amp, or is it just recommended? i'd like to install the tubes, and then after thankgiving, take it to get biased.

thanks

GC didn't have a good "in stock" selection. IMO. Online is a larger selection.

And Bias is dangerous but yet, simple if your a techy with knowledge.
As I understand it it sets the IDLE and optimum performance for your amp...
and extends the life of your tubes...so yeah.

and being a tube it probably can drift over time, so it would be beneficial for a person to learn how to do this them self....or "pay the man" and wait in the repair shop, jones-ing out for your amp.

I put in my new non-same tubes and the amp works great....and there's no side effect in general.....the amp works, enuff said.

I don't know but if you stay with the same tube vendor... biasing cahnge should be reduced? I would think?
I'm just trying to get a simple guitar setup going, and I'm off to something else....maybe my drums. I think I need a SM57 and call it a day.

How much difference is a bias typically from one tube vender 6L6 to the other? are we talking 50% change, or maybe only a tiny %10 change in mVolts?
