Hi,
I'm wanting to modify my Fostex VF-16 which only has two balanced inputs and 6
other unbalanced. It does have mic/line gain pots on every channel which is
excellent for my applications. I ran into this when I bought a pro analog
mixer that I'm going to use as a front-end for the multitracker. However, I
want to use a TRS snake going from the mixer's direct outs (which I have to
build in myself as well) to the VF-16. I want to replace those 2 conductor
jack with TRS. I'm wondering if it's possible to modify the 6 inputs on the
VF-16 to a balanced circuit. Will I get the full benefits of balanced
circuitry for tracking? I've found a few standard circuits to build a balanced differential amplifier.
I'm not new to soldering/wiring etc but
am a little new to printed circuit boards....can this all be done on a
really small board and placed inside the case it self?
I was comparing the schematic of balanced mic inputs to the rest of the
variable unbalanced inputs trying to figure out how to do this.
If ANYONE has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate hearing about them.
