I haven't posted here in years but wanted to share my story on M-Audio's service.
I recently bought a used DMP3 online from a music store selling it on consignment. When it arrived I noticed that the gain pot on one of the channels was missing and the knob was totally smashed to bits. When I opened it up I found that the pot had broken off at the solder points and needed to be replaced. It was apparantly a victim of UPS's package handling.
I was disappointed at first, but decided not to send it back or try to get the seller to file a complaint against UPS. I'd just fix it. I scoured the net for a replacement pot, but had no luck. I emailed M-audio explaining my situation. And even though they had no pots or knobs in stock, they removed them from a functional DMP3 and mailed them to me free of charge. Talk about going the extra mile...
