Power chords Distorted?

I'm talking about using this SIR reverb plug-in as a send. The reverb is there, but it's very late. It almost sounds like a slap-back delay with reverb. :p
You sure you're not accidentally using an IR with that kind or response or that the pre-delay isn't accidentally tuned long?

I don't know. I need to play with it more. It seems to work fine as an insert. I'm also pretty dumb with this technical stuff, so it's also very possibly user-error.

A lot better (but I love reverb)
sounds a lot heavier and is missng a lot of fizz though i'm hearing through small speakers so the low end isn't showing up very well

That was the original guitars that Deftones used.
Thats what I want to get my guitars near to.

No offense Eck, but I am suprisingly disappointed in you. After hearing your comments on a thread where I posted a sample. You sounded like you knew what you were talking about. But man that guitar tone is horrid. You've gotta be playing through some type of distortion pedal or DI witht the gain on 9.

I was testing out a direct recording to see how good a sound I could get to see if anyone thought it was a real amp, I definitley didn't manage it.
The gain was only at 25%. Recording distorted guitars is one of my weak points, I still know I have a good knowledge of mixing audio.

I'll post some real recordings when I get a chance to get back to real recording.

Anyone got any decent impulses from top quality studios?

Eck

Good point, when you are talking about gear impulses

Still...Ill give you 100 years to try and set one of the pathetic VST DSP-verbs out there (besides maybe CSR) to sound like a good gear impulse :)
I think its safe to say, in a roundabout way, hat convo reverbs can beat VST DSP reverbs, even at "DSP"

You're probably right. I have very little experience with VST reverbs, and none of it was too good........
