What is the sharpest large condesor mic for vocals.....I want a mic that is crystal clear and sharp.......I use a Samson CL-7, and truth be told, I think the SHure SM58 I have is sharper than the Samson.....I want to get a mic that is under $150 and wanted to see what the recommends are

Sharp? The following mics are so razor-sharp, they might slice your head off ...

AKG C3000 B

Rode NT1

Behringer B1

Marshall mxl-2001

.

Yup, many of what Chessrock suggested are all "sharp" mics... and they sit in a mix like finger nails on a chalk board IMO. I think people are taking sharp to mean bright and I wonder if that is what you really mean and want. I might suggest a more balanced mic like an AT4040 (look used and you'll get it in the <$200 range.) which is a very detailed mic which is how I am going to interpret sharp.

Be careful what you ask for here. I think a good choice with what you already have might be something like a CAD M177 along the line of the AT4040 not quite as quiet but only 1/3 of the price.

Really you can't go wrong it.

The guy wants some help but all you find is the usual sad little dudes chiming in with their attempts at superiority. So what if he doesn't know the jargon.

Old Chinese saying: "Some small and wretched men in order to stand tall, have to chop off the heads of other men."
