I am totally new to this home recording thing. I went out and got what I assumed was going to be a pretty easy package to put together but currently I have having issues with Cubase recognizng the Alesis. I'm not sure what that is.

Anyone else run into this bug with a PC? The Alesis loaded up right. I installed the newest set of drivers first. I think I did everything right.

Thanks for helping a noob.

off the top of my head, you need to go to devices and then VST multitrack and make sure it is selected there.

also go to VST inputs and make sure they are activated

Thanks. I was going to mention that. It isn't even listed as an option under the VST Inputs. This was my dilemna. How do I get it to recognize it and then choose it. I will go and make sure the VST inputs are activated.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I had better luck with the drivers that came on the CD.
The process that worked for me was.

1. install drivers
2. connect multimix and let PnP install the drivers you added in the previous step
3. power the pc down.
4. power cycle the multimix
5. power on the pc

I'm new at this also but it seems that Cubase is the finicky one here.
I'm also running Abelton's Live and it recognized the multimix on the first try.

Also you didn't mention if you can select the multimix from Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices. That may be your issue right there.

aah. thank you, i didn't check it but just assumed.

It is funny though. Alesis insists that you download the new drivers and don't use the ones in the cd. One would think it was a simple upgrade and there would be no reason to use a whole other driver, just update the files.
