New to the forum, but been making music since about 1980, mostly guitar. Recorded on the first walkman that had microphones, a bunch of cassette decks way back then, moved to a four track and did a little bit of pro studio 8-track stuff in the 80s in NY with my band. Took a break for a while, then recorded on a 4-track then a Korg D888 during the late 90s till about 2009 when I took another break. Been back at it a bunch since 2018, still on the D888 but now mixing with Logic, and bouncing back and forth between the iMac and the D888. I like how the D888 is so straightforward to use no matter how wasted I may be.
Playing a mix of guitars, Fender, Gretsch, Univox and Epiphone electrics, a Mustang Bass and a Yamaha FG331 acoustic ca 1980.
I was a photographer for most of my life, did a lot of record company stuff in the 80s, then fine art photographs till I packed it all in about three months ago. Taught photography and graphic design for 15 years, and when that gig ended I became a landlord, which gives me plenty of time for music. Learning curve with the digital end of this is steep for me, but I'm slowly gaining.
