Thanks man,

Thanks to you to Powderfinger....

A fella at another board said the drums sounded too swing like...
sooooooo..........

I went and re-did the drums from scratch.....
New drums and mix are up at both sites now....
I am beat...gotta get some zzzzzzzzs...
be back tomorrow to critique you guys...

goodnight
Joe

Yo' Sugar-Pie-Guy-I-Can't-Tell-No-Lie, this slammie has madddd potential! Your git perf is clean & brite and in-yo'-face! Could ya' kinda' give the bass some props by adding a tad mo' gain (u KNOW I'm biased;) :p ). The opening slightly reminded me of the
R-Stones "Jumping-Jack-Flash"!!! This joint is just BEGGING for lyrical content and strong vocs!!!

If you like, I can do my "HOME-REC RAP" I did at JAMFEST3!!:D

This is 1, @ss-tite production!

Here's pie-in-your-eye!

Thanks QQ....I will tweak the bass some....

Any rap from you would be cool MR. QQ...but, I gotta write a lyric for this one Aaron my man,
Thanks for checkin' the tungae my friend,
Joe (with pie in his eye.... ;) )

Sounds pretty good Joe. It's a bit early in the morning, but the rhythm guitar sounds a little bit out of tune. Like new strings that haven't quite been broken in? It's not real bad I don't think.

Sounds like the makings of a good rocker. I think I can almost hear Axl Rose's voice on this. lol

Very good tune, I liked the way you cut the chorus in half and the way it ended with the first line.

The only thing I might change which is getting nitpickin but it sticks out at me is the lyric

"You open the door and you step outside
You breathe the air up the Mountainside"

The two "sides" back to back

Very good mix and recording job.

Guitar is bit out of tune. I know the feeling, none of my guitars stay in tune, avoiding major chords...

Rockin' tune, certainly needs vocals.

My thoughts exactly.

I used to do a pretty good Axl Rose imitation. It's even better nowadays....

*silence*

What do you think?

:D

Don't tune the guitar - Neil Young never did and it worked for him. This has a little of that Neil Young and Crazy Horse flavor. I like it. And it's a tune that begs to be CRANKED. I like that, too!!

Thanks man.....
I re-tracked after tuning my guit to the chords....not to the open strings...
I elaborated on the lead but, I suck at lead....

DW Thanks for checking out Blue Ridge Day man...but, that is the wrong song....yeah...those two lines bother me now too....thanks man,

Ped...

sounds good man.. :D

MC Gitarz
Sorry man...I had to try it in tune... :D
funny thing this....the louder it is...with clipping and all....the better it sounds....so yeah....CRANK up the new mix man... :D
Thanks.

CanopuS
Thanks for checking it out man...here is how it went...
Les Paul into POD into Mackie board into soundcard...
Bass direct into Mackie into soundcard..
drums are recorded .WAV files off of my el-cheapo Yamaha keyboard....cut up into measures and stepped and repeated in CEP2...the eq-ed...
I lay down a basic beat first...track the guits and bass to that then embellish on the intro...fills and ending....
seems to work pretty well...

Thanks fellas,
New mix is up at both sites....don't forget to CRANK IT! :D

Joe

The mix sounds very full and balanced!

Sounds like a good rockin' tune once you get some vox on this.

I listened on the Sound-Click site...is the file the same on both?

I loved the tone you got on the distorted guitar! I would kill for tone like that.:D

Let's hear your best Bonn Scott on this one, man.

Cheers! :)

Wasn't expecting this kind of sound from you Joro, i thought you were all about the sweet intimate acoustic settings, La la la.. well this sounds like it could be kickin. I like the rhythm guits, the bass and drums are laying back a nice groove.

I have to disagree here about Axl though, i definitely hear the guy from AC/DC over GnR.

"THuuuuunn-ddaaaaah" "Thuuuuun-ddaaaaaah"!!!

*Hold up devil fingers and rocks*

Oh... nice...

Crazy thought... is the bass out of tune? Just the low (A?)... maybe a fretting issue... (maybe an ear issue over here :()

Nice recording!!

Rock-out-with-your-pie-out!!!

:p

The Ghost of FM
Thanks for checking it out man...
The guits are two seperate tracks...same setting through the POD panned hard to both sides...the files are the same at both sites....I had put a massively lame lead on it but, I suck at lead so cut it out completely.......also...yeah...I gotta write the lyric....need a hook first...then it'll flow...Bon Scott?.....cool.....

Hey man....a little variety never hurts....I was weaned on this kind of stuff....*Hold up devil fingers and rocks*:D

Hey Chad, it very well might be a fretting issue...the bass is an improv....I was gonna re-track it but, I did tune before recording...
Rock-out-with-your-pie-out!!! :(
pie?........................I like pie..............and cake :D

Finish it!

Will do Lt.
Finding someone to sing it is always the biggest challenge though.....ya know?

Thanks fellas...
Joe

Lyric is done....

Waddaya think fellas?

Runaway

Verse1
Hopped a Freight car
Headin’ down the line
Little did I know
It’d be my very last time

Verse2
Never been to Denver
Mile High, or so they say
Cruisin’ up the Rockies…
(Bon Scott spoken) Couplings snapped - brakes gave way

Chorus
Ooooooooh I’m on a Runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train
I’m headin’ to hell on this runaway
Never comin’ back from this runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train

Verse 3
Dead man’s Curve
Coming straight ahead
Red lights flashing
I’ll soon be dead

Verse 4
Do I jump
Or, do I ride
This runaway train
To the other side

Chorus
Ooooooooh I’m on a Runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train
I’m headin’ to hell on this runaway
Never comin’ back from this runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train

Verse 5
Time to choose
Live or die
Take a chance
on the mountainside

Verse 6
Lean on out
Seconds to crash
Wind in my face
(Bon Scott spoken) What a rush..

Chorus
Ooooooooh I’m on a Runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train
I’m headin’ to hell on this runaway
Never comin’ back from this runaway
I’m headin’ to hell on this runaway
Never comin’ back from this runaway
Runaway, runaway, runaway train
