The thing is - many folks don't even care or want to know the truth. They don't want to understand what is actually so, what's verifiably true. And worse - once they find out that they are wrong about something like this - they refuse to have their mind changed and be better for it. It's fucking perplexing to me why people cloak themselves in deliberate ignorance - and are fine with it.
