So by Lemon helping out with the M-Box, would it be safe to say that he is giving out Lemonaide? or Lemon aid..... /smacks knee

That's out of order, there isn't even MENTION of an M-Box in that post

im really glad you like the bands music though,,thats great!
we used to have a pipes player a few years ago too,,but he moved away to Texas and got married. hes now just started to make his own pipes,,
so id reckon that should make some good money over there

well,,,
thats two entire days and nights now ive been sitting here installing,,
and uninstalling,,and reinstalling the bastard MBOX

it all seemed to open up fine eventually at first,,
much as i had no idea what to do,
at least Pro Tools actually opened up on screen

then the ProTools LE 6.8.1 programme told me it had an update available,,
so i downloaded Pro Tools LE 7 from the Digidesign site

when i tried to use that it required a registration code that i didnt have,,
and had no way of knowing how to get it,,
so i uninstalled it again,,and reinstalled the previous one

so now,,no matter what the hell i try to do,,
the old one just wont open up at all. not a thing happens when i click on the icon
its driving me mental here,
and i want to send the damn thing back to the USA and give up;-(
all i want to do is learn how to use this thing and record some bloody music
i have absolutely no idea what im doin,or whats wrong

so ive wasted my time,,and my money .
i had NO idea that this pc,,which is less than a year old,,
wouldnt be able to be used.

ive even sold my wee portastudio that i used before,,
so now i have nothing to record on at all. :(

That's tragic! What's in the PC it's not compatable with? Can you return it for a refund?
 
nah mate,,i bought the bastard thing over inTexas in February
and even if i could,,it would be deemed my fault for not checking first

i mean,,who wouldve thought it? not me apparently;-(

* Intel 915P
* Intel 925X

mine is the 915p


i suppose if they way around it is to have to buy a different processor for this pc thats maybe an option,,,but the pc is great on its own,,
and less than a year old too
so i bet id end up gettin the MBOX to run,,
and everythinmg else start fuckin up on me :(

Sorry about your mbox woes. Your best bet might be to flog the mbox, buy a presonus or m-audio f/w unit instead, and you'd probably have enough change left over for a half decent mic

so,,,ye think thats an option for me?
well,,its lookin like thats the best option anyway unless i find out they have miraculously made some wee patch or fix i can download to get the bassa workin;-(
i wonder what it is that makes mine incompatible.

one of the main reasons for getting it was so i could do stuff at home that was easily compatible with the other fella in the band,,
who has the Mac based G4/Pro Tools system ye see

what a total pain in the feckin arse all this has been :mad:
 
That's a shame Monster. I know you're disappointed.

Good thing is, you can ebay it and get 90% of your money back. Even though I'm a Protools guy, It probably would be your best bet to look into getting either a M-Audio or Presonus unit and go with Cubase. I love PT, and I'd recommend it to anyone, but you'd have to buy a new PC, and that just sucks.

I would hop over to the Protools Forum though and ask BennyChico if there's a way around it before I put it on ebay.

aye,,im so let down by it all mate :(
and i would have found all this out sooner too if i hadnt been waiting for weeks and weeks to try and get hold of an external hard drive,,
cos it recommended as much in the manual.
so much for that too. so much for getting it cheaper in the USA too.
i wont get that dough back.

i wish i had just kept my wee MR8 8 track digital portastudio.
hardly top quality,,but good enough for my purposes.
i even recorded some of my Monsterpop cd on that,,
and before that some of that album was done on a Fostex 8tk to cassette

id be just as happy to get one with a hard drive and cd burner,,
cos thats more my brain level.
all the extra programmes and plug ins would drive me mental anyway im sure.

so now i have nothing to record on at all right now,
and that must be the first time in about 1o years or so

i did already post a message on either the PROTOOLS forum,,
or the Recording Project,,in reply to Benny chicos answer to me

long time no post from me;-)
would you believe i never have got started on the MBOX?
id to get my old pc back from someone,and discovered it will run on there

inbetween times i even bought a Mac G4,which it wouldnt run on
and tried a couple of other Macs to no avail also:mad:
so its no wonder i cant even face tryin to learn how to use it after all this time and hassle !
trouble is i got rid of my wee Fostex MR8 for home demos,
so i will have to take the plunge at some point i guess:o
