right click on your "desktop" click "properties" click the "settings" tab, then click the "advanced" button, then scroll through all the tabs until you see what you are looking for.

hey mate

well i just did that,,but theres no tab for video display card,,,
so i think ive done as much as i can according to the manual now.
do ye think its time i just went for it and started trying to load the machine and software on?

If you did as I suggested, that's the only thing that could have came up. If something other than video card information came up, you didn't do it right.

I'd give it a go Monsterpop... from the sounds of it, that is a tweak to optimize performance, but not absolutely necessary... You can get to your video card settings the way Creamyapples suggested, but for now you probably just want to get using your software - you can always go back later and change that if you're having troubles or if you get a hold of a friend who can give you a hand.
Load up Pro Tools and give it a shot! :)

hey mate

well i did what you said to do,,and theres no tab regarding video,,,
so if its there,,i dunno what im lookin for;-)
i tried to upload a screenshot so you see what i see,,
but the bugger is to large,
and i of course dunno how to make it the correct size;-)

hey Doc;-)

i apologize for bein so shite at even the most basic things mate,,,
im just new to the whole concept of recording using the computer ye know?
really have just come straight from the wee red box Fostex MR8,,
to all this pc malarky!
i DO really appreciate everyones time to try and help me though,,
so i thank you all for that. Now,,,its "manual time" again eh?
theres umpteen CDs to get loaded up by the looks of it,,
and i have NO idea where to start;-)
thanks mate;-)

Different brands use different buttons. Try Delete, F10, or Tab (one at a time, of course). If it gets past the black screen with white text, hit the reset button and try a different one.

Well, goodluck man!
For now, you can just install the ProTools software... get that up and running and then worry about all the other stuff that comes with it ;)

aye well,,thats would be alright if i knew how to do the things to my pc that the feckin manual insists upon sir! :(

but i dont,,,,, stupid bloody over complicated bassa that it is!

Hey "mate", I hope you're not to "gutted" to find out home recording is a bit advanced for "NEDS"

You're obviously having problems with your M-Box...you've read that disabling the HT in your BIOS may possibly cure your problem, but....you haven't even bothered to mention what the problem is.....now you're looking for more stuff in the M-Box manual to "FIX" in some sort of wild goose chase.

Try stating exactly what the problem is you're having, what equipment you are using, and what configuration you have the equipment in. That should give anyone here with half a brain the foundation to research your problem for you and convert it to "NED" terms for you to try and understand.

If that doesn't work just post up where you live and I'll come round and rob your gear....chances are I'll be robbing my gear back anyway.

Good luck

whats with all this " " crap,, and NEDS patter?
and what exactly is your problem?
people have been very nice here,so you can leave the others to help thanks
