    percussions - what reverb??

I am using percussion "loops" from RMX in an intimate chilly chamber orchestra arrangement. I like to know, what type of reverb should I use. I like to know where to start? For me the Hall reverb what I use for the orchestra is not good for the percussion loop. trif.

    Adam instead of Dynaudio

Until now I had a pair of BM5As with BM9S what resulted in very flat response in my acoustically treated room. Due to some facts I moved my studio out from this room, and set it up in another smaller room. In that smaller room the BM5As were OK - I did not need the sub. SO far so good, but...

    My best tape "plugin"

The Copycat indeed can do "magic", but I needed a much longer tape. And as far as I understand the Copycat's tape length is not so long. The delay what I will create on my Studer is not the only one technique what I will do. I will use certainly the "inperfection" of my Studer to "break" my...

    My best tape "plugin"

Gens, Thanks! I will check the other forum. I am not a protools user, so I can not check the Steve Massey plug in. I suppose that the Portico 5042 uses dsp - I have never heard its sound. What I want to do for example is to create a tape delay in such a way, that the delays are less and...

    My best tape "plugin"

"plug-in" - I am sorry if it was misleading, that was not my intention. Corner? OK - I will have to remove some of my bass traps;). BTW: I have 14 bass traps in my room next to the 16 m soffits... trif.

    My best tape "plugin"

OK, here is the pic. The unit is used as a OFF-LINE plugin. So, some the already recorded tracks (audio tracks) go to the tape and back (from/to the DAW), and the "tape magic" happens. Now, it is experimenting time about speeds and equalization (NAB/CCIR), and tape types. Any advice on these...

    My best tape "plugin"

I have purchased my best tape "plugin". Did I??? I have been looking for it ages and now I got it finally. It is itself the Studer A807. I am not kidding, I am serious. I have tried it very briefly with EMTEC and Maxell tapes, different speeds, different EQs. Some commercial CD-s do not...

Please explain - the benefit of natural sounding reverb

Thanks for the replies. Since I have the 01v96v2, I like to ask, how good/natural is the reverb in that unit? Can you please compare it to other 'master' reverb(s)? Any further elaboration/advice/comment is very much welcome. trif.

Please explain - the benefit of natural sounding reverb

It seams obvious, but I like to have a rigorous explanation why a more natural sounding reverb is benefitial when it is used as a "master" reverb for multitracks (the individual tracks feed the master reverb via their sends). Stefan.

    Cinematic ambiance

bennychico11, I am talking about music mixed in "PURE" STEREO with cinematic feel. Thanks for the Wavearts links. chessrock, Thanks for drawing my attention towards Stormdrums. SonicAlbert, Thanks for the hints. Any further elaboration is welcome. trif.

    Cinematic ambiance

The quesion is simple - the answer can be complex... Here it comes: What effects/methods are used to get the cinema sound-from a STEREO system (example Dynaudio 2.1). I have several classical compositions/mixes (strings/horns/flutes/trumpet/timpanis... with drum grooves, synths...) and they...

    Mixing in Headphones...

I have been trying to mix on headphones for appr. 10-15 years or so with little succes. I do NOT recommend it. They are some articles about it, and my conclusion is this: Use very often a reference mix, and take very often pauses - I would say after 10-15 minutes. Do not listen very loudly...

best way from stereo to mono

SX3 because in reality the instrument is mono. As I said, the rompler made it stereo, and the recording was done in stereo.

best way from stereo to mono

I need some advice: I have tracks (played by rompler, actually made from mono samples) in stereo format (the rompler/synth makes them stereo) but I want them in mono. What is the best way to convert them into mono? There is no possibility to re-record the tracks in mono. trif.

tube plugin or tube channel strip

Well, I have "tested" tasted the new unit. It is definetly better in my oppinion! (compared to the Uaudio unit) Solo instruments (coming from samplers/romplers) like acoustic guitar/violin/viola flute all benefit from it. The difference is subtle but audible. It is a tone? Perhaps. It is more...
