I have a groove tubes gt55 that I haven't used for a few months. Earlier this week I plugged it in and now the output is a lot lower, the highend is harsh, and the bottom is a lot more empty. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong? Or anyone know of any mods that can improve this mic since...

For most of my recording experience I have been mixing inside the box. I have moved to firewire recording for convience, but I have an older Pentinum 3 computer which I have installed my delta 1010 in. This computer doesn't have the cpu that I need to fully run all the effects and processes that...
I have a soundcraft compact 4 that I use for some on the spot recording with my laptop. I've been looking at some spirit notepads online and have been wondering if the preamps and the overall sound of the board is better? I know alot of people may not have much experience with these two pieces...
I was recently reading a few forums where people were even jumping on people because they were trading music software with some of there friends. Most of these were high school students just getting into recording. This wasn't 500 dollar plus software like Cubase SX or Sonar or Samplitude Pro...
I'm recording this compilation for this campus event. The range of music goes from rock, alternative,r&b, and hip hop. There will also be some poetry included. I usually use my GT55, Cad M37, AT4033, and sometimes MXL v67 for vocals. I'm looking for something with a different flavor. I thinking a...
I'm running windows xp and I just got a m-audio delta 66 with an omni studio. This is a setup I'm using while I'm at school. The omni records and plays back fine in Samplitude or Pro Tools. What I'm trying to do is playback a video or audio file from media player or real player and have the...
Does anyone know where or if I can get some balanced 1/4 to unbalanced 1/4 cables without buying a cable snake because I really dislike using chain snakes?
Maybe its just me, but this microphone sounds drastically different(better) through different preamps. I had stopped using this mic for awhile. When I first bought it I would use it through my vlz pro or my dmp3 and I noticed it sound a little better through the dmp3. I recently got a groove...
Here's the deal, I just got a groove tubes gt55 and I only have the included mic clip. The problem is that it does not fit on my mic stand or my boom. I'm going to buy the shockmount, but the only place I know that sells them is guitar center and nearest gc for me is about 90 miles away. Does...
I've used the classic plugins and find that they are decent. Has anyone ever used the gold series and if so is it an quality upgrade from the classic bundle.
Which mic would be better suited for hip hop and rock vocals? I've had pretty good results with the at4033, but I've never used the at4040. Some people say that the response is flatter with at4040, but I was wondering if it had less silibance?
I broke the screw(or whatever its called) that holds my Cad glx2400 shock mount together. I can take another one off a another shock mount from a different mic and use it, but where could I find a replacement screw or whatever its called.
Does anybody really notice the difference between these two mics other than the bass rolloff switch on the 4040? I never use it anyway (I always use the bass cut on my preamps). The frequency response curve looks about the same on both and in my opinion they sound about the same, although the...
I know this may sound like a silly question, but I've been recording for a while and have never be able to understand the purpose of a -10 db pad/switch on a microphone. I know its useful with feedback on stage mics, but what are the benefits in a studio situation. Why not just turn the gain down?
I do I find the tempo of a song using something like sound forge or samplitude. For example if someone brings me a pre-mixed instrumental track how would I find the tempo of the track if they do not know.
I'm writing a paper on audio recording and was wondering if any one who has experience in the industry is willing to be interviewed via e-mail or something?
