I have a pair of the Avenson's. I love em. Ruler flat. They do have slightly more self noise than average but not overly so. I use them for Drum overheads, and for piano most of the time. Their customer service is excellent.
The Tape-op messgae board has alot of users that like them.
There are only a few differences between the two units.
828mkii has 2 preamps and the Traveler has four.
828mkii can only record up to 96k sample rate while the Traveler can record 196k sample rate
The 828mkii needs to be pluged in and the Traveler can be buss powered.
BOTH need a computer to...

I built one about a year ago for my Fender Hot Rod so I would be able to record drums and guitar without bleed and to also to be able to hear the guitar amp though my monitors without hearing the amp itself. For those two purposes, it has exceeded my expectations.
1) Did you put...
1) It has the possiblity to cause problems when summed to mono. It all depends on the length of the run. You can tell two ways. Sum them to mono and listen, does is sound phasey (flange like), does the volume decrease because of cancellation, or does it sound fine. Or you can zoom in the wave...

I got a brand new VMP2000e on ebay for 999$. The best grand I ever spent.
Sound great on lots of things, bass DI, guitar DI, acoustic, voice, drums. I just did a vocal session with and NTK and SM7b (NTK over the SM7b have the singer sing into the SM7 instead of the NTK) running into the Seb...
Does anyone have any experience with these pre's in an all around setting.
I am looking for two pre's to compliment my Sebatron and I have heard good things about these 312a's
I was also considering the isa 428. But I like the idea of buying a pre and being able to talk to the person who...
A Sebatron VMP2000e channel can be routed back into the second channel with an unbalanced patch cable for precisely that use.
Might not be what you are looking for but it is a nice pre......
around 1100$
Good Luck
I also have a Sebatron VMP2000e and love it... Extremely well made plus it has a 3 year warranty. Nice eq options as well. I got mine for 1000$ new from newsoundcard.com (they don't have it listen on there site but they sell them on ebay from time to time)
Good luck
How does it not have relavance. I said I had problems with Windows and that I prefered Macs. I also said why I like Mac and some of their advantages. You basically called me inept. I am sorry my printer driver story doesn't catch your fancy, it happened to be one of the my most frustrating...
My G5 hasn't crashed period.... In my experience, they tend to be more stable.... No they are not imprevious to the effect of bad drivers, though if a drive doesn't work it doesn't bring the system down with. I am merely stating that I have spent to much time fixing windows.
The modes change depending on how many/where your plug your cables in
Example" if you have a cable in the front "1" and in the back "1" it will pass right through. But if you had a cable in the front "1" and and the back "1" and "2" the signal from the front will go to both of the back jacks...
You buy a mac for the experience. Everything in the OS has to offer, the iApps intergration with each other, the security, the ease of use, the design. and the style..... yes the style. And for this you pay a higher price. I like macs because for me they work. I personally can't stand spending...
