does anyone know about the Zoom Sampletrak 224?

The Zoom Sampletrak ST-224 seems like the right sampler for my purposes, but I haven't had any experience with it. Does it have any problems, any major limitations, any annoying little imperfections? Imformation from real people would be appreciated.

I'm going to wack my mixer with a bat

I run all of my gear through a Behringer 1604A. It has two effects send/returns in which I have a chorus and delay. When I run something without effects, I only hear it on the right; it won't appear on the left until I add effects. I don't want the effects on certain things, but I still want...

do I need a direct box?

I'd like to record an electric guitar through my amp without micing it. There is a preamp out on the back of the amp, but I don't want to take the chance of frying anything. Would I be able to go from that output to my mixer or recorder or do I need to throw in a direct box somewhere?

    noise noise noise noise noise

I run vocals through a Behringer mixer into a digital eight-track. Although, with the help of a new mic, I have eliminated a lot of noise, I can't seem to get rid of all the minute hums and buzzes. Is there a piece of gear that was created for this problem? How do professionals get clear...

    trying to start computer recording

I would like to start recording with a computer. I have a Fostex DMT-8vL recorder, but its hard drive only holds five song programs. I'm looking for a way to save those songs (stored in eight tracks) so I can work on other songs without finishing the first five. I would also need to edit and...
