Trying to sound as pro as possible

Well, I moved on from producing my own stuff to producing other bands. I have few (near none) equipment that I can call top-notch but I'm trying to sound as good as possible within my own means. I want you to comment on this small samples. This is the third band I'm producing, and so far is the...

    Stereo Imaging

I've been quite concerned about stereo imaging and been using blue tubes pluggins to work with it. But I can only turn the sound to wide or narrow, how can I move from front to back as far as imaging goes? I should be able to work it out with reverbs or room simulations, but I suppose there must...

    Aardvark q10 Vs Delta1010

Hi guys. I have one Delta1010 and been using it for sometime. For me it has some problems like, no power button, no headphones or monitor out, no xlr inputs, no built-in mic pres, etc. Apart fro that, works just fine. A friend of mine is selling one Q10 and it has everything that Delta1010 has...

    Really cool studio headphones

I need some good headphones for studio work (tracking, recording, accurate mixing at some particular stages of the recording process, monitoring, etc). I was thinking about the AKG 271 but they are sold out in Portugal at the moment, the 240 are available. So my question is, should I wait for...

Processor overloads with a few plug-ins

I have a PIV 3.0 FSB 800 and about 1GB ram. I usa a S.A.T.A 120GB disc and Cubase sx 2 as my software sequencer. I have one Delta 1010 from Maudio as audiocard and interface. DFH & V-drums

Well, I've been a Td-10 (Roland) user for some time, and quite honestly it did work for my "home-needs" but I always thought the samples (even after upgrading to the TDW-1) were kinda shitty. Recently (this week) I decided to try the TD-10 as a midi controler with the DFH samples. I built a...

    Building a "Behringer homestudio"

I know, I know, everytime the "behringer" name is pronounced, voices of rage are raised upon it. The problem is I'm a poor guy, and I'm building my humble homestudio (I had some gear for a while, now its time for "major" upgrade). So I suppose when you need good (not the best) audio solutions...

Nuendo 2.0 Vs Cubase SX 2.0 and DAWs

Well, three questions: 1 - I've been using Nuendo 2.0 for some time and I've always wondered what's the real difference between Nuendo 2.0 and Cubase Sx 2.0 and which is the best for home recording. 2 - I happen to have some stupid overloads on my pc that I really don't understand: I have one...

    Which Computer?

Upgrading time is at hand! First of all: Intel or Amd? If Intel: From 2.6 to 3.0, from FSB 533 to FSB 800...which option is really worth the price considering it is for audio use mainly and for some video apps (like playing dvds)? I'm not familiar with AMD but I've been told Intel is better.

For all those who doubt the capabilities of Sonar XL or just never thought you could get a professional production just with this kind of software, please check this - totally home made - recording. HomeRecording: V-Drums Vs A-Drums

Well, I know all the drummers tend to be a bit close-minded about electronic technology concerning drums, but I started working on some home productions and realize that nowadays (in the XXI century) there's nothing like working with a V-drum on studio (also live, but that's another matter). If...
