Is it safe to use the AKG C 414 B-TL II on guitar cabs?
I've used it with great results on somewhat moderate volumes in my Randall Isolation, because the SM57 just wasn't giving me the tones I was aiming for. Could the capsule of the 414 be harmed by doing this? I'm using volume padding...
I'm running an Apple Power Mac G4 733 with Apple OS9.2.2 and Digidesign Pro Tools LE wich is my dedicated DAW-system. Because my PC broke down a few weeks ago I've decided to use my G4 as an internet computer also. Now I wonder what I need to make this work? I've heard that you can put a second...
I've got a PM G4 733 Quicksilver with 1,28GB RAM and OS9.2.2 which is devoted for music making. Now I'm wondering, since my PC broke down last week and can't be fixed, if I can use my MAC for internet applications and 'Word' or if I should get a new PC/MAC for internet use only? What is better...
So my friend has this Roland W30 sampler and we did some drumloops with it and it sounded really good. So I was wondering if it was possible to get that punchy 12-bit sound through a Native Instruments KONTAKT or if it's a pretty impossible task?
You can always de-bit the sounds in Kontakt, but...
Actually!?
Do you know if there are any good filter softwares?
I'm running a Digi001 ProTools LE Factory system with a G4 733 in OS9.2. I have a MoogerFooger and a couple of resonators and distorsions in there, would that be enough?!?
What do I need in order to filter?
There are lot of Filter boxes such as the Mutator, Sherman Filterbank, Electrix Filter Factory and the Waldorf X-Pole on the market. But which one do you think is the best? Which do you think is the most praiseworthy?
Hi,
I'm looking for something that'll give me good analog tape saturation in the digital domain. Do you have any suggestions of FX units or plug-ins that'll get me this desired effect?
I'm using the Digi001 and a 733 G4.
I appreciate it, thanks!!
Hi and thank you SonicAlbert, that was a lot of information you covered and things are starting to seem a bit more clearer. I guess I'll have to really test the stuff either way though. But I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Thanks again, all of you!
All the best!
Hi,
I was under the impression that tubes where the best way to go?
I have found a decent pair of Summit Audio's (the 2BA-221 and TLA-50) for about $800. Is that a good bang for the buck?
I'm sorry, there aren't that many places here to test drive gear at. This way I really can't make up my...
What about tube-preamps and -compressors? I think most of the stuff you guys mentioned is solid state?!
I'll really need the warmth of tubes since I don't really use any tube mics and do record in a digital environment.
Midpriced microphone preamps and compressors?
Hi, well I figured I might just spend a little more money getting a decent midpriced Microphone Preamp and and a nice Compressor instead of buying something cheap to replace my Joemeek VC1.
As I see it there are a number of choices but if my budjet...
Thanks guys!
Since I buy most of my stuff used from the internet it's kind of hard to get an opinion about something I haven't even seen or heard in person. That's why I need your point of view. :)
I know they're in another league, but what do you think of the Summit MPC100A, compared to the...
