I suggest that people give you the stock answer. I use a Audigy 2 Platinum with excellent results. Check it out. http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=119947&T=1197 The top five songs were done since i upgraded to the Audigy 2.

I suggest an inexpensive amp modeler such as V Amp2 or J Station. But the most impotant thing is to always be in tune. (Don't laugh - this seems obvious but is often overlooked)

I reckon that's the specs on the audigy card. I think we're talking about the Audigy 2 card.

Actually I am also considering stepping up from an audigy to audigy 2. I guess i am just afraid to try somehting else since my machine has always performed pretty well with Audigy.

THIS IS GENERALLY GOOD ADVICE. NEARLY FRESH BASS STRINGS IN THE STUDIO IS A MUST. I SAY NEARLY FRESH, BEACAUSE IF THEY'RE BRAND NEW THEY MAY BE OVERLY BRIGHT. I MIGHT ALSO AD - TRY FLAT WOUND OR HALF ROUND STRINGS IN THE STUDIO - VERY EASY TO MIX.

I voted for R & B because you could still play blues, jazz, and rock under that genre.

I routinely use a Shure SM 57 for vocals when I perform and record. I once owned a CAD condenser mic that I liked alot. But I unloaded it because one guy i work with don't have phantom power. A while back i sang through a Shure Beta 58A and thought it was cool. I'm now thinking about getting...
