    J-station?

I've owned POD, V Am, and various Roland/Boss emulaters, and I keep coming back to my J Station. The addition of bass amps is big, and the digital output. Check my stuff at http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=119947&T=9300. The most recent stuff was recorded through a J Station...

    guitar recording tips

I suggest an inexpensive amp modeler such as V Amp2 or J Station. But the most impotant thing is to always be in tune. (Don't laugh - this seems obvious but is often overlooked)

    Audigy 2 review

Re: Just Gamers?! THANKS FOR AN HONEST STATEMENT AND NOT JUST REPEATING THAT "CREATIVE IS FOR GAMERS" THAT'S BEEN ON THESE FORUMS FOR YEARS. I HAVE AN AUDIGY THAT GIVES ME GOOD PERFORMANCE IN RECORDING AND PRODUCTION. MY REVIEWS ON ACID PLANET ARE ALWAYS HIGH AND I AM CURRENTLY NEGOTIATING A...

    well-defined, crisp bass attack

THIS IS GENERALLY GOOD ADVICE. NEARLY FRESH BASS STRINGS IN THE STUDIO IS A MUST. I SAY NEARLY FRESH, BEACAUSE IF THEY'RE BRAND NEW THEY MAY BE OVERLY BRIGHT. I MIGHT ALSO AD - TRY FLAT WOUND OR HALF ROUND STRINGS IN THE STUDIO - VERY EASY TO MIX.

Solved If for some reason you could only play one type of music what would it be?

I voted for R & B because you could still play blues, jazz, and rock under that genre.

    Microphones

Thanks everyone. I am not THE Zelmo Beaty. I am Chuck Beatty. Zelmo was my nickname when I was a kid back in the seventies. Quite a few people back in the 'hood still call me that. BTW - I think I will stick with the Beta 58. I just wanted to see if their was some super low cost alternative.

    Microphones

I routinely use a Shure SM 57 for vocals when I perform and record. I once owned a CAD condenser mic that I liked alot. But I unloaded it because one guy i work with don't have phantom power. A while back i sang through a Shure Beta 58A and thought it was cool. I'm now thinking about getting...
