I routinely use a Shure SM 57 for vocals when I perform and record. I once owned a CAD condenser mic that I liked alot. But I unloaded it because one guy i work with don't have phantom power.
A while back i sang through a Shure Beta 58A and thought it was cool. I'm now thinking about getting...
I use Acid as a base to record songs in more traditional styles like blues and roots rock. Thought you might be interested.

I must say, I like adding DLS midi sounds to my recordings in Acid 3.0. I kind of got away from midi when I started using loops. BTW I'm a guitar and bass player. I got some rhodes, FM and clav sounds from Sonic Implants for $9.99 and am having a blast.

If you own both Acid and Sound Forge, is there any good reason for using the effects plug ins directly in Acid?
Doesn't it save processing power to export the files to Sound Forge, edit, and then open back in Acid?

I have a problem with recording/playback of audio in Acid. When recording a guitar part while listening to only two or three drums and bass loops, i hear a hickup at about one minute in during playback. It throws the recorded track off time from there on. I'm recording at 16 bit, 44100Hz...
