Thanks! I was gonna look for that next.

    Compressors and vocals question

Yea - I also found I have to tame down my very highest volumes whenever I belt it out, because it was just a bit 'too much' dynamic range, and pushing into the red - even with my much practiced mic technique.

    Compressors and vocals question

Yeah - my thoughts exactly on doing it this way for so long. Get the best sound [signal] possible coming in, so long as I'm happy with it. No other effects though. Just a good healthy signal.

    Compressors and vocals question

Yup - could do. I'm gonna try that.

    Compressors and vocals question

Myself, I've been using a now older DBX376 Preamp/Compressor, with a TLM103 for about 10 years. I liked some of the Digital options it had, like S/P DIF out directly into my interface, which didn't seem all that common 10 years ago. I eventually got the sound to where I really like it -...

    new DAW w/ SSD question

If it's not too late, might I suggest a 2nd SSD for your libraries? I have an SSD for my main things - OS, DAWs & programs, and 2 other SSDs for streaming my libraries from. For instance my Kontakt Libraries, some of which can take a while to load. It's definitely a faster load process...

DAW vs other Workflow. Frustrated with computers...

Oh Man! Don't you f'n hate that?? Been there, 'hated' that many times. Last time was about 2-3 months ago. The worst part is when it's just a cable, or a restart or something simple like that. But when you're frustrated & growing increasingly tired & impatient, it just goes from bad to worse...

DAW vs other Workflow. Frustrated with computers...

My first DAW was Sonar 6 Studio all the way up to Sonar X2d. A few years ago, I bought the upgrades to Presonus Studio One 2 Professional from my StudioLive 16.4.2 mixer purchase. Just before the release of Sonar X3, [which I passed on], for the first time ever, I paid the full price [minus...

DAW vs other Workflow. Frustrated with computers...

I'll be ready to swear BY Cubase, just as soon as I'm done swearing AT it! Just kidding - love it! :p

Always wanted to make recording like I heard on CD, now..

Hahaha! Reminds me of the guy on the Cakewalk Sonar forums a few months ago. He kept mentioning that he was a 'Grammy winner' for simply playing a bass line on a song, [which means next to nothing], as does winning a Grammy also basically means virtually nothing these days - all things being...

Is there any song subject matter that you find hard to listen to ?

This is true. However, I simply couldn't resist. But...to answer your question after all, the one thing that does come to mind which I have taken offence to is indeed some of the 'lyrics' I hear in Rap songs regarding the degradation of women - you know - HOs, Bitches, etc.

Is there any song subject matter that you find hard to listen to ?

Yup - 1. Rap 2. Rap 3. Female Opera Singing 4. Rap 5. Extreme Country - you know - that hokey pokey, ridiculously whiny, unnecessarily twangy, red-neck idiot stuff 6. Rap 7. More Rap 8. Any Rap 9. Rap - period! These above 9 categories - I can't get to fast enough to mute, change the channel...

What Device Do I Need to Remotely Reocord -Start-Stop

Here's a link: TouchDAW - DAW controller and MIDI utilities for Android™ Might only be for Android after all. [Not sure - haven't tried it yet or looked into it much at all.]

What Device Do I Need to Remotely Reocord -Start-Stop

I tried this once & instantly hated it. Especially when having to get seated within the drum kit and/or electric guitars [& patch cords] that are inherently noisy with just a slight movement or repositioning each time you pick it up & put it down. Besides, once I'm comfortable, I want to stay...

If you could sound like anyone...?

I'm gonna go with Roger Hodgson - [ex-Supertramp]; one or both of the 2 guys from 1970's duo Seals & Crofts; the lead singer from Mike & Mechanics - [Paul Carrick I think his name is] & the singer of St. Elmos Fire Theme - might that be the already mentioned Paul Rodgers?
