I'm going to install new Abit kg7-Raid motherboard tomorrow and I was wondering about that raid feature. What is the best way to install two HDs? Should I use raid or what? My computer is DAW so performance of these HDs must be optimal. I have no experience of raid so help me out...

I have AMD Athlon 1000mhz, 512mb ram, two 30gb hard drives and audiophile 2496. I'm going to buy a new computer within few years. Should I keep the old one? I've heard that people have two computers for DAW but how? What software should I install to new one? Where I install my samples, Cubase...
Ok. Some of you might know that I have HUGE problems running my DAW. Maybe problem is my VIA kt133 motherboard. And the mother of all questions is: "What motherboard is good for DAW?" It doesn't have to be newest. All I need 1000mhz AMD support, two hardrives etc. What boards do you use?
Thank...
Ok, please reply this time. I still have problems. I have had problems about half year now. I'm starting to get sick of this. I bought a new hard drive but it didn't help at all. No help from the "official" supports. Here is a link to my previous post...
My soundcard problems seems to be endless. When I fix something, new problem shows up :)
And the problem. When I'm recording electric guitar with Sound Forge 5 result is clear and good (as you could expect from Audiophile). Now I need a right beat. I open Logic and play the midi file and...
I bought mic amplifier but it doesn't amplify my mic enough. Mic is Creative's SD-50, not a very high quality, but it fills my needs. Can u guys help me out? I'm newbie in microfones. Does Audio Buddy need different mic?
Any new mic tips? I'm recording acoustic guitar and vocals via amplifier...
When I'm recording electric guitar with soundforge everything is fine, but when I open Gigastudio sound is distorted and it is clipping. I really need to open gigastudio and Logic Audio to get the right beat.
Can U help me? What should I do?
I have:
1000Mhz
512 Mt ram
Audiophile 2496
V-amp2...
It was weird. I used DMA buffer 64 and suddendly sound was normal! Don't understand why. Of course there's that pop that comes time to time but NO MORE CRACKLING! Shouldn it be other way around? The smallest buffer setting should make more noice than the highest?!?
But I like to thank all of...
I'm still having very annoying problem with Audiophile 2496. When I play audio, everything works fine. But when I open another audioapp audio isn't clean anymore. It gets crackled like it was too loud. Here's few examples: I play music with winamp. When I try recording audio with soundforge at...
My idea of composing music is quite simple: I want to record HQ 24bit 88.2kHZ guitar and vocals into Cubase. Also I'm programming drums and other instruments with gigastudio. Then I could record the final mix with Soundforge (of course with 24bit 88.2kHz)...
CAN U GUYS ACTUALLY DO THIS...
Ok, I'm trashing my Hoontech DSP24 Value into zilloins of pieces and now I'm finally going to buy Audiophile 2496. Few questions first: I'm using V-amp2 for recording guitar. Can I just connect it straight to card? Of course I will be using 1/4 ->RCA adapter. How about mic? I quess I need some...
Now I've managed to get sound from value card, wav and midi, but recording is a another thing. I use Cubase 5, Gigastudio 96 and Soundforge 5 for recording. I have my hifi connected in 1/2 RCA output. I have tried to study manual but all these inputs and outputs make me confused! I only get odd...
I'm having a weird problem. I hear the windows 98 sounds (chords and dings), but not any other sounds. When trying play wav file, all I hear is some pops sometimes. I'm also using gigastudio 96 for composing and no midi sounds. Tried to listen Logic sountrack24's demo and no sounds. All SHOULD...
Now I've decided to buy either DSP24 value or AP 2496. Give me some experiences and recommendations both of these cards. Also it would be great to actually hear some of recordings (24bit quality)!
Finally, can I connect XLR mics into these cards somehow?
Thanks again...
I'm looking fore some good budget soundcard. All I need is 24/96 recording quality, one recording input to my V-amp2 and it should support at least ASIO and GSIF (gigasampler). I'm maybe keeping my sblive for midi so new soundcard doesn't have to support this. I'm thinking of USB solution...
