Last month I got myself a 14x8 Pearl free floating brass snare. Then began the hunt for the brightest snare head.
Having read that free floaters love to ring, I started off with a Coated Powerstroke 77. Too dark. Also quite dead.
Next I'm considering either Coated Ambassador, Coated Controlled...
The single is to be played live on Saturday night, then it's gonna be officially released and uploaded to streaming services through DistroKid (as far as I know).
A band that I play for has just recorded a new single (my first recording with them). They're happy with the mix and master, but I've been told to wait to get the ISRC to attach it the track. Does Reaper allow adding ISRCs to tracks?
P.S. I'm relatively new to this all this metadata stuff, it's...
I don't know how many times I've been told not to mix on headphones because "they lie to you". Understandable, as hearing a sound coming directly from a source is different to hearing it in the context of a room.
Here's the thing. I can in no way currently afford a set of professional mixing...
Well the only VSTi plugins I use are a drum machine and the three mentioned above. Obviously you can't really hear if a note is sustaining on drums, but it does sustain all of the others mentioned in the original post, so I think it's safe to assume it happens in both.
P.S. I didn't know Reaper...
Reaper 5?! (one f***ing week after I purchase my license), Finally!!!!!!
Sorry, excuse the excitement :P
There are no overlapping notes. The way I program things is just doubleclick-drag. Sometimes copy-paste.
Gecko - it's exactly as you described. Sometimes it happens, some times it doesn't...
I've recently started a project which makes major use of MIDI programming (multichannel symphony stuff). One issue I keep having is that random notes are being sustained during playback and rendering (as if Reaper doesn't get the "Note Off" message). This only seems to happen for about 1/200...
Right, so from what I've gathered here, the best thing to do would be to go for a smaller and slightly cheaper set of monitors, and rely on a separate sub to deliver the low end.
Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of a combo (monitors and sub) that would work at a reasonable...
This is probably a newbie question, and it's quite straightforward. I'm looking to invest in a pair of monitors for general mixing and mastering which won't cost too much (I'm not looking for high volume).
When in the monitor specifications the frequency response is stated as 45Hz-22000Hz (as...
Thanks for all the responses guys! We had originally planned to record tomorrow, but since we couldn't agree on a suitable time, it has been delayed until next week.
Yeah getting a sunny day here is like winning the lottery :P
I'm not doing it at my place, but instead at another band member's house. I have major issues with anyone living within a 100 metre radius (and vice versa) so if I were to record here the vocalist wouldn't be able to fully use his...
