My name is Steven. I'm enrolled in Los Angeles Film School for the Bachelors in Audio Production. I just joined this community and am excited to look around and see what I can learn. I've always been interested in music and how it enhances our lives. Before I took on this task I was enrolled in Digital Cinematography. I learned quite a bit but it just wasn't my passion, I'm happy with my final choice.

Hey Tim, this is a long shot but I saw a really old post where you mention you have a 22" Rude ride from 1981. I've been looking for a 22" Rude Power ride from that era and have only found one and unfortunately not for sale. Most are crash/rides. If yours is a power ride I'd be willing to make a really good offer. If not, no worries.

Hello everyone Scottye here. I'm looking for advice on building a computer for recording. The little laptop I'm using is horrible. I've done some research but want real info from real people. Trying to stay around 8 or 9 hundred for the build. any hardware lists would be great. Thanks

Buy a better laptop. Get a good A to D interface. . . If you are doing lots of midi with music synthesis, plus lots of processed effects, you will need a fairly powerful machine to run a lot of concurrent processes. You can get around that by rendering the tracks when you are through fiddling with them, and disabling or deleting the live midi tracks. Pay attention to latency in recording.

Hi, I just receive a Zoom R8. Bought it used from Reverb, and was hoping to use it to demo out some song ideas. I am running into a couple audio-playback issues. First, there is no audio playback from the console itself (while in fact the LED screen shows audio coming through my guitar in input one). Second, after trying with headphones, I am getting playback, but very muddy, and only on the right side.

Hi Jack, I’m on the wild goose chase which is trying to locate a Marantz PMD740 service manual. Can you point me in the right direction? One last question? I forget whether you talked about changing the belts or not but if you did. Do you have any leads on where to acquire them? Thanks man. By the way are you still using the four track?
