Ok, please show me the way--
I've finally started working with my MR11 8track and all is well EXCEPT I can't get strong volume readings. Though the instructions warn of setting the trim too high and clipping the high end--I can barely get the volume setting to an expectable range without resorting to the highest levels 8-10.
So far I've been using only MXL mics with the phantom power (spoken word stuff) --but even the internal mic has to be turned up way too high for the right results.
Is it all about pre-amp punch?
Tim
