bypass FOSTEX FD-8 MIXER SECTION

HOW DO I BYPASS THE FOSTEX FD-8 MIXER SECTION AND USE MY MACKIE 1402 MIXER INSTEAD. HOW DO I MAKE THE CONNECTIONS? I JUST WANT TO USE THE DIGITAL FD-8 FOR THE RECORDING ONLY NOT ITS MIXER SECTION

Try this! The monitor/controlroom outs to
your mackie into channel 1 and 2 of the FD-8.Set the eq on the Fd-8 at the 12:00 position ad the Fd-8's chnnel faders @ hi without clipping. Record a signal from the mackie and tweak until the sound is what you want to hear. A cousin of mine tried this and was pleasantly satisfied and his reasoning was that the mackies pre-amps were far superior to the fostex. Good luck.
 
Fostex makes a cool little gadget called the VC8. it is a digital/ADAT/analog converter. you could run an ADAT digital cable from the FD-8 INTO the VC8. the VC8 would spit out 8 SEPERATE analog channels which you could patch into your Mackie. pretty cool. the VC8 is about $250, however. if you want the FD-8 to simultaneously output EIGHT DISCREET CHANNELS, though,..it's the cheapest way i've
