Zoom R20 punch in ?

Hello there did anyone figure out a way for a punch in and out option for the R20?

I don't think the R20 has punch in/out capability. It's one of the things missing compared to the R24.
 
Just looking at the manual, there doesn't appear to be an operation for that. However, I did dee a HINT notation that if you press Record while it's playing it will record from that point. So, if you're really quick you could try that for punching in and quickly stop it where needed. Could get messy. This would probably work ok with your hands free singing a vocal - if you're doing this solo, or punching in another musician.

This really sucks not to have that feature, especially since markers are utilized for other things.
 
Thank you for your replies, as a recording percussionist , the lack of punch in feature is very limiting to my flow to the point I m considering selling my R20 since I m having to do major edits after recording which is not the way to do it.....Perhaps as a FIRMWARE update from zoom ?? if possible.
 
Are you recording acoustic drums? Should you decide to switch gear, moving to a DAW would definitely facilitate punch-ins.
