Picked up a used zoom HD8 at the pawn shop.Everything works great on it.The manual is a little lacking. I'm trying to record the insert effects an for some reason I'm having a heck of a time.....The manual says they can be assigned to any or all tracks..At the inputs,in channel 1-8 or before the master...I am trying to use some of the mic settings..I set the effect to lets say track 1...it seems like it records fine, but then if I want to insert a different effect on another track the effect on the recorded track changes also...Am I inserting in the wrong place? It's driving me crazy...any help would be great.....

I'm not really familiar with the HD8, but my friend has one. I think there are two inserts correct?

These aren't and can't be designated to a specific track. That's why an insert affects every track. You can get around this by recording only one track at a time. The only problem is that you will hear the insert effect on the track even you don't want. But if you're not recording on that track, it should be fine after you're done recording and removing the insert.

Thanks for the reply...The manual says there are 3 places to do the insert...input of input mixer, any channel of the track mixer and immediately before the master fader.....I am doing one track at a time, but when I play back the recorded track (which should have the effect recorded on it) if I switch to a different effect for another track, the first track goes to the same effect even tho It should not affect a previously recorded track.....If I switch off the effect (even after I have recorded it)it dissapears from the track and I'm back to a dry track......Gettin old so maybe I'm missing something......
