Zoom HD 16 onto cubase via midi?

Hi, I have cubase 4 on my PC and a zoom HD16. has anyone out there used the zoom hd16 as an means to record straight onto cubase using the midi outs at the back? right now im recording onto the the zoom unit and moving the tracks to cubase afterward, this can get messy and I find cubase to be a better interface for recording than the small screen on zoom HD16.would USB to midi cable work for this purpose?
 
Midi is a means of transmitting note information from device to device (such as a keyboard to a computer), not for recorded audio.

A midi cable will not help you.

However, I expect that the Zoom would have some form of digital output (e.g. USB) through which you can import or export WAV audio files.
