Hi all, I am thinking about getting a Zoom H4, and my primary purpose is to use the onboard mics to record band practice and then transfer it onto a cd (that way I can drive around all day and listen to my crappy, embarassing playing!). We are loud and rehearse in a medium-sized room. I also wouldn't mind trying to record a gig with it, once again using the onboard mics.
I was wondering if anyone here has used it in this context (high volume)...any problem with the preamps red-lining even with it padded at it's lowest gain setting?
Any comments on the device, good or bad, would definitely be appreciated....seems like it could be a useful tool to have hanging around. The threads I've read here via the search function have been helpful, but none address this specific point. Thanks!
