Zildjian K alternative

I really like K cymbals and their "dark, rich, and complex" tone. Problem is I hate the giant K.

Call me shallow, yes I know. I can't help it. It's just ugly. I wouldn't buy an ugly guitar and I won't buy ugly cymbals.

So even though I've been faithful to Zildjian for a long time, what are comparable cymbals? I'd try 'em myself but everytime time I go to GC (which isn't often as I don't have the time), there's some kid wailing away on some giant kit he has no intention of buying.

Any help?
 
If the "K" really bothers you that much, polish it right off!
I use Zims Cymbal/Hardware Cleaner, and it'll take the logo right off!
I guess Zildjian makes some paste which will do so as well, but I didn't have good luck with that in the past.

Hmm. I'll think about that. I guess I'm a little worried I'd go to sell them one day though.

Well, I just bought a used 20" A Zildjian Ride which had NO logo's intact. I personally didn't care one bit. As long as it gives me the sound I want, it's mine!
 
I just bough a Jag, but I thought the hood ornament sucked so I took it off!!

Man, be proud of that big K - it shows you have excellent taste - at least in cymbals (although yes, you do sound a little shallow :D )

The Sabian HH series has the same warm, complex tone you reference - however the HH logo may bother you as much or more than the K.
 
Resale on cymbals really blows, and a missing logo won't hurt the value at all. Polish it off if it bugs you that much.
