Z28

One of my pickin buddies bought a Z28 amp a few weeks ago. It's really small and sounds beautiful, with only 3 knobs on it, a blond cabinet, and 28 watts. He favors this over all his amps. Anybody familiar with it?

Yep, a Dr. Z amp. They are simple and pure handbuilt tube amps. Awesome clean sounds and a nice smooth breakup when you push them. Most of them are pretty low wattage, so you get alot of response at mid level volume..not like a 100 watt Marshall or anything. They are a pretty good value for what they are, too. I've played a Maz18 and a Perscription in the line, too, and they were great amps as well.

I know Brad Paisley is a huge DrZ supporter and user, too. He;'s a monster picker.

I did some work with my buddy a couple of weeks ago before I had my surgery. I`m used to a Matchless he'd been using for a good while. I was suprised when I heard the tone of the z28 when it got heated up, it has more of an organic sweet singing sound.
