Well I wasnt a player, but when I was 11 and my bro was 21 I was his little rodie and when we were breaking down his drums one night, I was collapsing a cymbal stand and had my hand in the middle of the stand loosening the height adjustment and the thing came sliding down and caught the meat between my thumb and index finger (OUCH!) and I had massive blood blister there for weeks.

I've pinched skin in stands more times than I can even hope to remember. I've gouged knuckles many, many times on rims & cymbals. Lot's of splinters from drum sticks and drum risers.

I've also hit my head on many low ceilings (some clubs simply shouldn't even have a stage) - one time I was bleeding so bad I thought I would have to go for stiches (we poured some cheap whiskey on cut and covered it with duct tape) There are many times I've cut hands, knees, etc. while getting on and off stages, etc.

Probably the worst injury was when a cymbal inverted and I tried to pop it back with my hands (thumbs). My thumb gave before the cymbal. A serious dislocation that took a long time to heal.

I once fell off a 6' high stage backwards when the back leg of my throne went off the end of the stage - fortunately it was an outdoor festival and I landed on grass with limited injury (I was sauced up enough that I would not have felt it even if I hit concrete).

I did fall into my drums once when I was standing on the bass drum swinging a cymbal stand in the air (I use to be a rather flamboyant showman) which resulted in several cuts and bruises.

I've been hit by objects thrown from the crowd (no major injuries), and was involved in some bar fights while gigging (one times I neded a few stiches) but I guess that doesn't count for this particular thread!

Too numerous to mention. Seems like everytime gear gets moved there's another scar and more loss of blood. I've fallen off stages, been shocked to the point of paralyses, cracked knuckles, sliced open hands, legs, feet, etc. -- wacking myself with a stick when aiming for the drums...

Ever play drums barefoot? Many things can go wrong...

By the far the the biggest injury I remember is when the bass player showed up an hour AFTER we were to start playing a huge event. It was a fatal injury to the band's career.

lots of cuts on my knuckles from failed cymbal catches.

lots of busted blisters

when my 21" Dry hEavy Ride fell. I dove into the bass drum to ctach it, got a ferw cuts from the bass drum pedal. But i saved my favorite cymbal :-)

I was playin a gig on a very dodgy stage when the crowd decided to surge forward. the stage moved about 2/3 feet and the drum kit fell on top of me.

During the same gig a cymbal stand fell as I was about to hit it andthe cymbal sliced my knuckles. Blood all over the drums!!!

I'm a guitarist and I've got the business-end of a broken stick across the side of the ol' noggin at least twice.

Oh yeah....I once had a drummer kick my ass. But she was pretty big for only being 15.
