That is a really cool song! Reminded me a bit of masive attack, some of the touches and effects are brilliant. I think the drums could do with being changed a bit but i couldn't tell you how, it might just be because it was a poor quality stream, but i also know how hard it is to get drum loops to sound right, actually i think it's impossible;).

Good work;)

Hey,

VEry good drum sound. I also like the piano. For some reason, I was wishing the piano was panned a bit to the left, but it works were its at. Sometimes, the piano sounds like its on top of everything else instead of fitting in. I think reducing the volume a tad will work.

peace

Very interesting song - good creativity with the samples!
I liked the drums sounds a lot - what samples were you using for them? One of the thin cymbal samples sounds a little too thin for me, but cymbal samples are always tough. Neat song and good, clear recording. Again, I'm interested to know what drum samples you used.

thanks!!!

WOW!!!
i really didnt think i was going to get that kind of a reaction from everyone.
I actually wanted to make the snare and kick sound a bit more "outer spacey" sounding, but every reverb/delay i tried made it sound awfull.
i used drag and drop drummer for the drum tracks so i couldnt really seperate the snare and kick from the hi-hat, which cluttered the whole beat.
i think ill try to pan some of the piano notes L/R every once in a while. do you think i should pan the guitar left and the pianos right? ive already panned some of the samples L/R.
thanks again for the input everyone, mucho appreciato..

hey Jags,
what is massive attack? a song, band? do you have a link? id like to hear what you're talking about.

Yeah Massive Attack fer sher. I also agree on the cymbals thing whole heartedly. I didn't too much care for the guitars(forward ones, reverse was cool). Cool song though. The samples of the guys talking sounds like you sampled at too low of a sample rate. If you could redo the samples they wouldn't sound so "sampley". They should blend in more. Great idea, nice groove.

hey rats,
how would i go about changing the sample rate?
i downloaded the files from the internet, then chopped them up a bit, then threw them in the song... am i missing a step somewhere?
also, i checked out "massive attack and am not hearing the similaity. all i heard from them was a "rap" style of music, or i am not listening to the right song? dont get me wrong, im not offended in any way, i was wanted to hear what everyone is tallking about.
and what was it about the guitars? i dont really understand what you mean.
(forward ones, reverse was cool).
you didnt care for the forward ones, but the reverse ones were ok. maybe make them all reverse?

any/all input is welcome

I think i was refering to the song 'Unfinished Sympathy' more than anything else, released in 1991 which kind of defined the trip-hop genre. Probably the piano sound and general atmosphere. Btw, i realise now that the drum thing i mentioned was definitely a stream quality issue, not your problem.

Again, great song.
